How to copy a PDF file?

I do not like PDF files. I find them next to impossible to copy. Today I'm trying to enlarge a graphic and I can't figure out how to enlarge and have it print enlarged. As usual, I also cannot figure out how to copy it so I could enlarge it myself.

I have Adobe Reader 8.

Any tips would be appreciated.

To copy using Adobe go to Edit at the top.
Click Copy to Clipboard.
To paste in an email is OK for my AOL.
To paste in Microsoft Works Word Processor or something similiar. At the top - Edit = Paste Special - When a popup comes up Select Picture - OK
If you paste in your Documents it will be listed as Scrap and
will open in Adobe.

I do not have a copy or copy to clipboard choice under edit or any of the other headings.

Bob, as of today, I am intimately involved with every worthless feature of my printer. lol I tried that, I click on it, change it to 400% and it reverts right back to 100. So I turned on the poster option and picked the one that looks like it's 4 times bigger than a regular page and nothing happens, it just freezes up and doesn't print at all. Grrrrr! I'm thinking that should really do it, but what do I know? I give up. I'll stop by a Kinko's or something and use one of their copiers and save myself the aggravation of this thing. Chances are I'll never even use it, but dangitall, I wanted to figure it out! Thanks for trying to help me, though, I do appreciate it!

I didn't have an Adobe Book File to run a test on, so all I could do was try this location for a free book download. http://etext.virginia.edu/ebooks/ E-book Library at the Electronic Text Center Wide range of publicly-available e-books from the University of Virginia Library in Microsoft Reader and Palm formats. etext.virginia.edu/ebooks/ - 14k - Cached - Similar pages I choose Civil War - Red Badge of Courage as a test - Chapter 1 only. - I clicked save as and it was quickly delivered to my Desktop. Everything went OK. Adobe 7 is the free version. Do you need the paid Version?

The most straightforward way to print just the ten pages would be to specify page numbers when printing. If you wanted to create a new electronic document with only those ten pages, (from a PC) I would use PDFTools. It lets you split PDF files. For that matter, it should be possible to copy the text and paste into a word processor. The fact that you can't makes me think maybe you have PICTURES OF TEXT but that your computer doesn't know it's text. Was the PDF made by scanning documents? If this is the case, you should be able to capture snap-shots from the PDF, save them as pics and insert them into a word processor document.

Unfortunately you cannot post a pdf image - you have to convert it to an image format first. Try using this free online tool to convert it to JPEG format, then you can upload it to your photobucket album and link to it from Gardenweb. Neevia free online PDF image converter

I hacked around a pdf situation thusly: located the file with Google. Google had an open as HTML option. Copied Google's HTML and pasted it into word, edited and printed.

It was a bit of a pain but if one doesn't have to do it often or if the printout is quite important right now it might work.

a really easy way to handle that is to simply convert it from a pdf to a format you are more familiar with and can work with such as a word doc or excel or something like that. There are some good free online converters and this one will even let you do the pictures just pay attention to what you select as to what to convert and what to convert it to.

Free Online PDF to Word Conversions this one only does conversion to word and will give it to you there with out having to email it to you.

I also use zamzar

Thank you for your suggestions. I'll try to make them work for me. I think I need to learn more about Adobe and their value and then perhaps I'll be more tolerant of the problems I encounter with them. I love it when I am able to easily cut and paste and keep, bits and pieces of articles I find online. When I run into a PDF I know trouble is here. Guess I should be grateful for all that is easy to use.
