As for Black Friday, I'm not stepping foot outside my door.
LOL. I'll be decorating for Xmas instead. So many sales right now, that I'm going shopping "today" (Monday, since its after midnight here now). No crowds at all, hopefully.

For me turkey & cornbread dressing are a must for Thanksgiving. DH doesn't eat turkey so we have a ham also. There are so many side dishes that are traditions for my family and we have them all. DS & I enjoy the leftovers for days.

i've made sausage grav by crumbling pork sausage,rendering the fat(discard some if too much)cooking the flour in the remaining and add warmed milk...i never measure... was so dissapointed when we went for chicken dinner in frankenmuth mi, and they had canned gravy!

My favorite convenience food is the contents of a grocery store. Everything there is convenience food when you think about it. Otherwise you grow your fruit & veggies, grow and butcher your meat. There, they do the bulk of the work for you.

Argh! Carol, it's word salad at that point. For the taste buds, sour=acidic and bitter=alkali, or so I've read, making the tongue into a pH meter, and, indeed, the words sour and acid have common origins. In flavor, however, brie tastes sour but isn’t usually thought of as being acidic tasting. Whereas, citrus has to be extardinarily sweet not to taste the acidity, but Floral's limes and my lemons have sour notes beyond the general perceivable acidiy. I can't define it better. I just meant that I was interested beyond specifically acidic foods like tomatoes (old style), citrus and vinegar. ...Even though technically the sour flavor may be caused by acids. I’ve also read that sweetness doesn't affect the quantity of acid, though it affects the perception of it. Like putting sugar (or carrots) in the tomato sauce to mellow out the acidity. Apparently it masks, but does not neutralize, whereas modern, sweeter tomatoes have sufficiently less acid that you have to check the pH for canning, and adjust.

I feel for you so much! I bet you know all I'm about to say, but I'll say it so you can see it. If you're doing an elimination diet, you're much better off doing it right the first time. That is, truly eliminate with no cheats all the suspect foods. It's a dead bore, crazy making and screws up your normal life, but if you felt fine it wouldn't be an issue. You CAN do this. Maybe you need to have a tapering down time. Of course don't go radical until you hear what the doctor has to say. Just remember, the doctors hear so many "I can'ts" that they may give in when they really want to shout at you that you need to do this to feel better. The trick is, cut out everything potentially bad. Give your body time to heal on the highly restrictive diet, however unfun and uncomfortable that may be. For other things, it can be as short as 6 weeks, but your doctor should have a number in mind. Then, once you're pretty well as healed from the "bad" foods as you're going to get, add in one eliminated food and see if it's okay. Then set it aside, wait awhile and try the next, repeating until all have had their chances. Then add back two at a time to see if they pair up to be "bad". It's a total bore, but it works. If you're not going to do the whole thing, there's little point in doing part. I had a friend who did that, and she was perpetually deprived because she wasn't really eliminating the baddies from her diet, just giving it a lot of lip service and a half-hearted wave. In your case, before clearing more out of the kitchen, I'd look for a few things that you can for sure have and see what you can make out of them to replace the eggs that you eat when you can't think of what else. Make sure there's some nutrition similarity, and that what you invent tastes good. Then start tapering off actual eggs. Without soy and nuts, I don't know how you're going to find a good dairy substitute. Avocadoes might be a good sub for cream cheese on toast, and might be satisfying, but they're not cheese. Pâté , maybe?

I stopped doing the 'Black Friday' thing years ago. Seems they start doing the sales Earlier & Earlier, so I take advantage of them. Now, the Day After, we go to a Tree Farm and chop down our tree to put up the next day.

Oyster Stuffing!
I love Thanksgiving and everything about it! My all-time favorite T-day food is the Oyster Stuffing.
I still remember back to the first time we had it at our bestfriends' home. I'd been brought up with Onion & Sage stuffing, being from Michigan. DH with cornbread stuffing in Oklahoma. We both looked at each other in alarm at the thought of oyster stuffing! But, one bite and we were hooked. Now, I can't imagine a Thanksgiving without it.

Stuffing, without a doubt. I make it separately in a pan, and I could eat leftover stuffing and gravy for days after and be perfectly happy. Love stuffing!!

I work the day after...I hate shopping in stores, and I hate crowds even more, so I don't mind working (and as a bonus, most other people take it off, so the office is really, really quiet).

I do 90% of my shopping online...so I guess I might do some shopping online Friday...

Turkey, stuffing and gravy are my favorites. The best part of the turkey is the browned crispy skin followed by the dark meat!! I know it's not good for me but I really love it!!!

I hate to go against the original list, but for me it's ham followed closely by green bean casserole and mashed potatoes. I don't particularly care for turkey and during the large Thanksgiving gatherings our family always has both - Turkey and Ham.
Of course I make sure there is still room for desserts as well...LOL

My favorites are turkey, stuffing and gravy. I came back from the store with all my goodies and hopefully I didn't forget anything.

I love Black Friday. I just started doing it about 3 years ago and look forward to it even if there isn't anything that I really need to get. I come home take a nap and then start on Christmas decorating.

Oh, what I love about Thanksgiving dinner is that everything goes so well together. We sometimes have a turkey during the summer, but if we haven't had it by October, we DON'T. By the time Thanksgiving day is here, we are anticipating that Butterball. Stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, are all perfect together, and the first person who thought to serve cranberries with turkey was a genius.

We also drool over pumpkin pies in the stores all fall, but we don't indulge until Wednesday night. Then we will watch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles and enjoy a piece of pumpkin pie. This is the tradition of many, many years. We're big on tradition, lol. - Gail

I'll have bits of anything else that might be served. This year i'm not having Turkey day at my house.

I'll be going to Frederickburg, TX the day after. They're having what is called Trade Days. There will be 6 barns,hopefully loaded with antiques, primitives, and all sorts of things! We won't be leaving until Friday night so i'll be able to take advantage of Black Friday also. ;o)

Turkey with whole berry cranberry sauce,or cranberry relish, ham, mashed potatos with gravy,deviled eggs,green beans. Yummy! I had cornbread stuffing for the first time last week at our church Thanksgiving dinner. WOW! It was awesome!
I am having my family Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. Already have the pecan pie,pumpkin pie, and homemade fudge done.
No black Friday for me. I would rather pay $20.00 more than regular price than fight the crowds.
DH and I will go to town one day during the week after the 1st and finish DS's presents. DS and I will go one day to finish DH's presents. I have to buy 3 more DGS's presents and I'm done.

My stuffing and gravy with homemade pumpkin pie with real whipped cream! No black Friday for me. I've been Christmas shopping since August. So now I just decorate and enjoy the season! Just a very small Thanksgiving dinner with DH, MIL and her companion. New grandson, DD, and DSIL will be visiting his side of the family in Denver. We get them for Christmas so I'm not complaining! He'll be 3 months old then. We're really thankful for our new healthy little boy!

I'm going to go against the tide and say my favorite part of Thanksgiving is the leftovers. Turkey sandwich on white bread, cranberry sauce and mayo. Pecan pie for breakfast Friday morning. I'll skip Black Friday and go into the Forrest (w/permit) and cut down a Christmas tree with my family
