Need help on printing pictures from a disk

I have several disks of photos from Photo Works, which has gone out of business and would like to print the pictures as shown on the disk to serve as a reference for the pictures I do have printed out. That is not individual but exactly shown. Can this be done and if so, how? I also noticed some of the disks are dirty and what can I use to clean them? I don't want these many pictures on the computer permanently. Any other ideas would be appreciated

Not sure I understand the meaning of..."print the pictures as shown on the disk to serve as a reference for the pictures I do have printed out." It sounds like you want to print groups of thumbnail images. If so, why not copy/paste them into a .doc and then print that? Without knowing the number of discs, number of images and their size...not sure I understand your reluctance to store them on the computer unless you are very short on disc space. If that's the case, a few cheap USB flash drives could solve that problem.

Yes, I want to print the thumbnail images to use as a refrerence. Did not think of copy and paste, but I am not the most experienced on a computer.

It's one of the English Ivy cultivars, Hedera helix '24 Karats'. From the collection of Ivy at the Buffalo(NY) Botanical Garden. I grow a number of different one's, but don't have this one presently. Mine are grown in pots, hanging baskets and on toparies. I'm somewhat paranoid about planting Ivy in the garden, since many of the lazy neighbors have allowed it to become a nuisance in their gardens and it climbs trees, where it transforms into an Adult form, flowers and produces berries. Birds then scatter the seed everywhere and it becomes invasive. My property is mostly woodlands and a bird sanctuary, so you can imagine the problem I have with seedlings. not only from Ivy, but all berried plants! Not all are exotics, many are native plants. To "save as" you right-click on something, then choose "save as" from the pop-out menu, then determine your destination. To "copy and paste" you need to first select something, then you can press Ctrl-C to copy it, then go to your destination and press Ctrl-V to paste it. The Snipping Tool was introduced with Windows Vista. Windows 7, 8, and 10 all have it, too. In Windows 7 (which I use) it's in "Accessories." Once you've activated it, you get a "crosshairs" symbol on your screen that you move around with your cursor. This serves as the "framing" for the area you want to snip. Place the crosshairs at the beginning point, then left-click on your mouse (presuming you are right-handed) and hold the button down as you drag the mouse to expand the area until you have framed what you want to capture. The snipped area will then appear in a window and you can edit it, highlight portions, draw on the area, etc., and you can save the snip, send it to someone, etc.

You're right, the two hardware pieces (the phone and the PC) should recognize one another and figure out how to talk. The phone would then appear as an external drive when you open Windows Explorer. Did you try that, do you see another drive under "This PC" after C: and maybe also after a backup sector (D:) ? And then photos are usually in a folder with the name DCIM or a subfolder of DCIM. A bluetooth connection might be tried instead of a USB cord if your PC has bluetooth but that may be too complicated for you to use. Have you looked in the User Manual of the phone for help? Are you using the newest PC you own to try for the connection? Connections and settings in the Android world sometimes differ from one company to another and from one Android version to another. If you don't see the phone listed using Windows Explorer on the PC after trying the above, I'd call your cellular carrier's tech support. I'm sure they can help you. Good luck

Marie - there is also a way to print a contact sheet thought the Windows print wizard if you haven't had success yet.

Open the file with the pictures on it. Click on the first picture you want printed, then while holding down the shift key, click on the last one. All the pictures will be highlighted. Right click and select PRINT.

Make sure you paper size is set to what you want, and on the right side select "contact sheet". If you have 8.5x11 paper, it will print 35 small pictures per page. It will automatically make more than one page if you have more than 35 pictures.

Also, in more recent versions of Windows there is a utility called "Snipping Tool" which is in the Accessories folder. It allows you to capture and save/print anything onscreen. It opens a re-sizeable window that can capture any rectangular area, from something small to the whole screen. If you are looking at a bunch of thumbnail views, it can capture all of them that are displayed with one click. Iowagirl's suggestion sounds like it might be better for your purposes, but the Snipping Tool is an alternative.
