spray painted the old milk can because it was not rusty old looking...just dirty.

stold some twigs out of the burn pile

glued silk leaves on the twigs with cool melt

added an orange mesh bow which I'm not sure I like...it may get changed

very simple and I didn't have to buy anything...just stuff laying around.

Thanks everyone!! I love decorating for fall almost as much as I love decorating for Christmas! The pumkins were easy to make only took a few hours. They are left over pieces that have been sitting in the wood pile for a couple of years. I just sponged on orange paint and painted some details. Then I coated them with sealer. The idea actually came from some made by gram nh, she posted them last year... it took me a whole year to do them!! LOL!!! Kirk, glad to see you pop in. I fear the postage would be way too much! He's actually falling apart and can't be moved. Something has been eating him from the inside out. I'm glad he made it one more year. Where are your decos for this year?? We need pictures. Ms Pumpkin is a lady cat and she just likes laying in the sun when she can sneak outsid... she is kept inside most of the time... very spoiled! I have added a basket of silk flowers to my iron chair.. still need a new flag pole to put the flag out.

I have the willow friendship girl from friend in Tn. She has flowers in her hands like she is going to give them to me(flowers are wire). They are so sweet.Love all your decor & dishes. I notice something tho, your tray is different than 1 they show in 1985 Hall book by Margaret & Kenn Whitmyer. The tray on page 37 has round handles on end like the 2 side ones on yours but bigger.I like yours much better Since it was only made in 1975-disc. in 76 both kinds would be quite rare I would think. They made so many things in Autumn Leaf, playing cards,bowl covers(shower cap looking)linens, canister sets, flour sifter, thermos( about 1 gal I think with spigot )Metal pieces the finish disappears at sight of water they said.Bread box & cake carriers, cooking pots & even a kitchen chair which is probably worth a fortune now. Jewel Tea came around our neighborhood but never stopped at my house, seemed to have appointments at 2 houses over in cul -de- sac?? I love the Aladdin teapot, it's such a neat shape. i have a 6 in tall water pitcher or maybe coffee pot(no rim indent or anything) got a few months ago for $1. couldn't pass that up! Gold little thin around top of it but in great shape otherwise. Glad you got a cabinet just for your beautiful collection!! Ah, CG - it's Christmas Eve already? We're running out of time, friend. :-) (I'm still wondering what happened to October...). What's frustrating is that, even though we bought this house in the spring, one of the things that "sold" me was how pretty it would look with full-on Christmas decorations. White icycle lights along the roofline, greenery around the white columns, red bows (I usually do that, not this year tho), etc. Alas, it's a tall peaked roof, & DH decided to be afraid of being more than 6' off the ground. We even considered renting a cherry-picker to put up permanent lights, but didn't get to it. (Old house, you know.. Every year something comes up. Or, more accurately, "down", lol!). Next year, we'll pay someone to do it. For real, this time! Jakabedy - that's beautiful! Such a huge tree, with all white lights - its simple, it's classy, it's perfect. :-) (I'll bet you don't "throw stones" from that glass house of yours, lol!).

Thanks caminnic... Hi Kareen, It's not my dog, however it looks exactly like our first beagle, Patch. I originally got this pillow on ebay, for my sofa in the den. When we did this chair, I jazzed it up a bit and placed it on the chair, but missed it on the sofa, so ordered a second one. Call me nuts, but I love the pillow and love beagles too :) Our old beagle CJ, can no longer jump up on the sofa. When I first got the pillow, every time I walked into the den and saw the pillow I thought for a minute that CJ, made the jump. :) All tolled, I have 4 Beagle pillows, so I guess that's a collection! I too love old milk cans and have a few sitting around outside. Ours is naturally starting to rust! I like yours painted black with the orange bow, twigs, leaves and pumpkin. What a wonderful touch for outdoor fall decor on the porch.

Love it!

Was very disappointed recently when I asked my mom what happened to the milk cans she had by the garage.... she GAVE THEM AWAY! I would have LOVED to have those old milk cans!!! :(

sorry party music about not getting the milk cans your mother had.

I have 5 of them here, one has a tractor seat welded on top of it. It is just a bit smaller than the others.

I bought it at an auction....but don't know for sure where the others came from.

I know one was a gift from some one at church.
I live in an old barn so everbody always thinks...."hey patti would like that..." lol

I always take it...don't like to hurt feelings
