Easy way is simply network them and move files across the network. Depending on the total size of the files you can use a usb flash drive, insert into laptop copy files to usb drive, safely remove icon, insert into pc copy files from the usb drive to the pc The size of the files would determine the size of usb thumb drive to buy, but they are very inexpensive and can be bought anywhere including walmart and bigots, I have several from there. If laptop has dvd you can copy to disks also, lots of ways to go.

This is what I might consider doing if it were mine. Probably it won't apply to you but then again, it might. After confirming that it was really the motherboard and not a cable, video card or power supply, I'd consider bidding on a used board, such as this one. I'd first make sure that is the proper board, not bid over $40, and realize it's a gamble. As for licensing, I know absolutely nothing but it's my impression that as long as you're replacing a defective board with the exact same model, you can use the same license. I assume activation by phone with an explanation would be needed though. Maybe I'm misreading? From Microsoft's Licensing FAQ: Q. If the motherboard is replaced because it is defective, you do not need to acquire a new operating system license for the PC as long as the replacement motherboard is the same make/model or the same manufacturer's replacement/equivalent, as defined by the manufacturer's warranty. The reason for this licensing rule primarily relates to the Microsoft Software License Terms and the support of the software covered by those terms. More info. I just looked at this file on my desktop in task manager again. I was able to right click and click on Go To Process, this highlighted for me where that is coming from. The program is realevent.exe. I did a search of my computer for that file and there are two files on my computer's hard drive. One is titled Realevent.exe-075FAD3E.pf. It seems to be in it's own folder titled Windows/Prefetch. It is 64 KB and is a PF File. According to this, it was created back in November of 2006. Huh? How the heck did this get here for that long? The second one shows an icon that I recognize as one that is on the border of the message that keeps coming up on my desktop, followed by reaevent. It is in Program Files/Common Files/Real/Update_OB. It is 53 KB and is an application file and according to this it was created in 2003! Oh my gosh! So, I can't believe that all this time, I was just closing it and never knew I could track where it was coming from on the computer through the task manager. So now that I have found where it is, should I just delete both these files? Is there any way of knowing where this program came from and what it was programed to do? If they could put it on my hard drive then, what else could it have done?

ten3_2tex, In Wordpad on my Laptop ( Windows 10) I have a Little Blue Square w/Smaller White Square Inside of the Blue Square in the Upper Left Hand Corner. That is supposed to resemble a Floppy Disk. If you Click on that Blue Floppy Disk it will Save your Documents! The First time you should be prompted to Name the Document. BTW, I've never use Wordpad or Notepad, I have MS Office 2007 w/Word. Have no Idea whether or not Wordpad has that Blue Floppy Disk in older Versions of Windows or not? All of my computers are now on Windows 10, so I have no was to check. I do have Windows 7 on 1 computer but I gave my Son the RAM out of that computer. Need to pick up some new RAM for that computer before I can use it again! Hope the above has helped!
