The great room beams peek at 22ft. Not any pictures of the master ceiling - but it looks like the great room only at 18ft. Kitchen ceiling is 9ft, lower level over 10ft.

Photos have stain colors, in case your interested.

Walls are SW Moderate White - it's a warm white (not as bright as in the photos) that changes during the day and is a nice contrast to the stain everywhere.

Allison-Always love it when I come across pictures of your "year round vacation spot." Hijacking here: Would you mind telling me the paint color on the cream cabinets in the laundry room? My search for THE off-white for my cabinets has begun and it's confusing. My floors are very dark so if you want to recommend a color I would love that too.

I was looking at the den pictures which I find very inviting (well done girl!). DH and I spent all weekend looking for heavier, quality, all wood furniture tables. All we could find was glued together pieces that shook easily with one hand. Quite easy to find in a growing industry of Chinese made replicas. Are your furniture pieces antique or some great looking newer brand...I hope, I hope, I hope!

Hey, Txgal. Thank you. The laundry (and all bathroom) cabinets are by Jim Bishop Cabinetry. I checked their website and all it says is chocolate glaze over off-white. Lots of help, huh?!

Tomorrow, when the natural light is better, I'll get down a fan deck and see what it comparest to. Do you want SW or BM names?

As always Allison--*sigh*! Every time I see pics of your house, I get inspired, confident and hopeful. Can't wait 'til we can get decisions settled and start moving along. We did have the excavator finally show up of all days Sat., even if it is just the start of the driveway! Yipee! Baby steps and breathing...;)

I was looking at the lower level Den picture (three pieces of furniture). There's a beautiful solid coffee table, a neat old dresser/hutch (?) and a great looking craftsman type rocker right next to it.

The coffee table we purchased over 20 years ago at my favorite antique store - I was there today! :) It was a kitchen table and DH cut the legs off in the middle and reattached the bottoms so we wouldn't loose the detail. It has a drawer and lots of "patina" thanks to three children growing up around it! lol

The old dresser/hutch in the den? That's an old german piece and the rocker was my great grandmother's - sorry! You're outta luck! Although, it's a common oak porch rocker from the early 1900's, so it couldn't be too hard to find one on ebay. I refinished it a million years ago and have recovered twice.

Have you seen Eddy West furniture? I spotted it in TN and found a place that carries locally - if I had only known two years ago! Many finishes/colors, etc and the local gal told me they'll customize things too.

I have a question, how did you light your vaulted great room? I don't see any lights on the ceiling.

Jennifer, that was the only semi-arguement we had during construction. DH wanted them, I didn't. We actually had the cans in (4 in each the GR and MBR) but even the electrician agreed they would not only ruin the look of the room, but with the roof pitch, the light would not be thrown directly to the floor (even using cans meant for sloped ceilings - the pitch was different). He removed them before the drywall was started.

In both the GR and MBR we have four metal sconces that throw light up/down. We use them and two lamps in the GR at night when it's just us. If we have company and want a brighter room, there are two more lamps and the great room receives light from the DR/Foyer/Kitchen. You can see one of the sconces lit in picture #7 and two unlit in #16.

I just noticed your moniker. I'm sorry you hate building - we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I was just recently trying (just a tad) to talk DH into building again! We've been the only house on our street for two years and two new houses have just started construction. We do have 4.5acres so it's not like our old neighborhood but we were used to the seclusion.

THANKS Allison! I have that one in my sample quarts for possible trim color so I'll paint some and see how it looks at the new house. My cabinets started going up yesterday and I am getting excited (although I am very tired at this point).
