Comments (91)Too Clunky! Sclee I can see why you tossed and turned worrying about this. You know in your heart it is too clunky. The worst part is that this manager or owner is not being helpful. His company made a mistake! Period. If this is how they measure granite installations then he has had this problem before and will continue to have this problem with future clients. He is NOT a stone artist. Measure twice cut once. And cut to perfection. Use sharp tools and be precise. Measure every nook and cranny! If they can not fix this they need to give you a fair discount. And then you can hire some other Stone company to make this better. Trust me there are better stone companies out there. Granite installers/fabricators that have talent and truly care about their work. Shame on this company. I hope he does read these posts because he needs to straighten out his company. Quality work deserves excellent pay. This is not quality. I send you ((((((((((((((Cyber hugs))))))))))))))))))))) I wish I had a solution. If it were me I would have them take the stone out. Start over with new granite slabs and a new company. I know, I know you love the stone but do you really love the gaps. If it is not going to work you will forever be upset with the outcome. And you will find another beautiful stone. Perhaps this slab can be converted to a window sill or end tables or bathroom vanity, night stand, bathtub sill, desk, entry way. As for your DH. He is under stress too. Husbands like to solve problems and when they can't they become a little edgy, difficult, stubborn, or they turn it on to you saying you are "overreacting". Oh dear I am talking about my DH. ;> Thinking of you and sending well wishes to the granite. ~boxer...See Morenutone radiant heat, is backup wiring needed?
Comments (3)Mine, which I installed, has the sensor in a small conduit buried in the floor. The other end of the conduit is in the wall box with the thermostat. Replacing the sensor is just matter of pulling out the old one and pushing in the new. It has not yet been necessary to do that. Mine is the Elektra brand and the mats were about 1/3 the cost of the well-known brands. Not quite as easy to install but have functioned perfectly....See MoreHow do I fix this door problem? Comments (7)Holy close ups. You need to back up and take a full picture but for starters there appears to be no door sill. The repair is to pull the unit and install a sill and reinstall or since that looks like a run of the mill steel door buy a new prehung unit and swap them out. Since your picture is so close up it makes it almost impossible to get the full picture of what is going on this is only an educated guess at this point. And from the looks of it the jambs were not procured with the proper jamb depth and they jury rigged extension jambs from plywood instead of pine trim....See More- 11 years ago
