the decrapifier is an excellent tool to use. It really works well. stargazer just in case you are going to have to add your service packs to your new formatted drive let me warn you of something, If you go back to original xp from the cd you must reboot in between adding each service pack, so for example get service pack 1 then reboot, get service pack 2 then reboot, etc. IF you do not there is a known bug that will cause you to not be able to get any of your windows updates. If you have trouble getting your updates hollar at me there is a work around for this.

It's possible, although unlikely, that if you haven't rebooted today a program that has been running for a long time could have files open from before today. If you want to safely delete files, you should reboot and only delete files that are stamped from before the reboot.

15% recommended minimum free space - windows pops a message at 200mb then another stern message when around 50mb free. Most don't need to defrag. Windows has automatic scheduled maintenance that does that about weekly. Anything you've downloaded and installed.. you don't need that program anymore.. it will just get outdated. Should you ever need it,, download it again ? Delete them, unless of course you have some secret coded paid for download, which you should burn to dvd or cd before deleting.
