Comments (3)I work with Colorado river rocks daily... I engrave them and often build monuments with them. They make great garden decorations! I use Loktite's PL530 Marble and Granite Adhesive. It holds up very well outdoors. check out some of my work Here is a link that might be useful: Engraved River Rock...See Moreriver rock tile
Comments (0)Hey guys, Have river rock tile around my shower inclosure. Just finished laying them. 2 rocks never stuck into the motar. Curious if it is okay to make more mortar and stick them back in or if there is another compound that would work before I have to grout. Thanks...See MoreHelp select grout color for river rock shower floor
Comments (36)We chose the Dusty Gray epoxy grout. I think the Raven would have looked great as well, but we decided to play it safe since I had heard from several designers in my area to not use the darker color. We still haven't hung the handheld on the wall (should've had them drill the holes in the tile for the mount at the time). I did purchase a bronze drain cover with fish pattern, but I need to round the corners to make it sit flush. Aside from our contractor bailing on us before the job was completed, we are fairly happy with how it all turned out....See MoreHow to paint river rock for an updated look?
Comments (11)I've read that river rock doesn't take paint well. I've no experience myself. But I would google about it particularly about cleaning and preparing the rock and grout for paint. I've seen a particular paint mentioned here several times as the best for painting stone and masonry - perhaps a search will bring it up, but I can't remember. I would think masonry paint, but I also see ordinary latex mentioned a lot. I'm with you, I think the river rock and wide bands of mortar are not attractive at all. I am not sure painting will help much - I'd be more inclined to cover the stone up with wood or stone tiles....See Moresassyinak
