Those readings in the task manager look ok, I'm not sure where you are reading this from ( my memory is 1.37gb). In your first post you led me to believe the only slow down was the fact that internet pages are slow to open and that is why I addressed the browser. Is this the only problem? If the entire computer is slow follow through with ravens post. If it is just the pages opening slow we can give you a link for a different browser to try to see if that resolves it and then we can focus on the browser issue. Please run the SUPERAntiSpyware program in the link that ravencajun gave you follow the directions with the scan, after the scan completes open SUPERANTIspyware again in the window that opens CLICK on PREFERENCES at the top click on STATISTICS/LOG choose the latest log by date view the log, now copy and paste the log here so we can see it.

First of all, a sincere thank you to each of you. The situation has been resolved. Norton contacted me this afternoon. The problem has to do with the Norton Firewall, and appears to have been fixed. If the problem recurs, I am to uninstall the Norton program and re-install it. Upon learning of my experience with i Yogi, the Norton representative explained that i Yogi has a redialer that sends your Norton call to them. i Yogi is a TOTAL SCAM. For those experiencing similar problenms in future, the Norton representative assures me that this toll-free number will get you to the real Norton Support people. 1(800)745-6061 When we go through the internet to get to Norton, even if we are entering through the Norton site, i Yogi can intercept the call. Again, my sincerest thanks for your time and attention to my problem. :O)

you will need to run the norton removal tool for your version of norton and take some extra removal steps since norton does not remove fully by using the add remove programs option. Download and run the Norton Removal Tool you can also get the free REVO uninstaller and run it in addition which should help remove any of the extra bits. Thanks to all of you who responded. So far, nothing has helped...One more thing it might be is the file that was placed on my computer when I installed my HP scanner, by the name of hpcmpmgr.exe. This is a systems diagnostics program that collects information on drivers, etc; and offers updates when needed. I noticed it pops up in the bottom tray about every 15 minutes. I don't care to have my system diagnosed, and would like to be rid of this hidden file. No way to uninstall it. If I uninstall my scanner, will it also take the exe file or is on here to stay? Has anyone found a way to get rid of this file? I am somewhat computer challanged, so please make it simple.Thanks again!! Ida
