Using IE7 please see below, or let us know what browser you use, when you have an issue like this it's nice to have another browser to use such as firefox to see if the browser is the problem.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type:
regsvr32 urlmon.dll

3. Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the following message: DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded.

Next, is IE7 the default browser in Control Panel> Add or remove programs? Set program access and defaults?

Next, I would start looking for a troublesome add-on.
Disable all add-ons from IE> Tools> Manage add-ons. Re-enable individual add-ons to see if an incompatible add-on shows itself.

I would also try disabling the IE7 Phishing Filter.

You may want to disable your anti virus briefly to see if that helps.

To get the "Run command back in the start menu in vista please do the following:

1. Right click on your task bar and select Properties.
2. Click on the Start Menu Tab and then select Customize.
3. Scroll through the list and check the box next to Run Command.
4. Hit OK a 2 times and it is back.

I've found that a lot of the time, it is not my computer, but my ISP. When it gets really slow, I get off the broadband, and use the dial-up I kept as a back-up. If the dial-up seems to be as fast or faster than the broadband, I deduce that it is probably my high speed ISP. I call tech support. They usually say they can see no problem and will put in a repair ticket for a repair person to make a service call to check it here at the house.

No one ever calls, and it soon gets straightened out.

If you do not have superantispyware go get the free blue version and install it, update it then have it do full scan and allow it to remove what it finds.

Norton takes a lot of resources, check your task manager and see how much cpu resources are being used and by what.

I am running IE7 currently. Task manager says my memory is 1.37gb, CPU usage is dancing between 1-7%, Processes 57, physical memory is 45%.

Does that help? As of this writing, the only things open are GW, and 2 email addresses.

Those readings in the task manager look ok, I'm not sure where you are reading this from ( my memory is 1.37gb).

In your first post you led me to believe the only slow down was the fact that internet pages are slow to open and that is why I addressed the browser. Is this the only problem? If the entire computer is slow follow through with ravens post. If it is just the pages opening slow we can give you a link for a different browser to try to see if that resolves it and then we can focus on the browser issue.

Please run the SUPERAntiSpyware program in the link that ravencajun gave you follow the directions with the scan, after the scan completes open SUPERANTIspyware again in the window that opens CLICK on PREFERENCES at the top click on STATISTICS/LOG choose the latest log by date view the log, now copy and paste the log here so we can see it.

I removed " Live Care One" and replaced it with AVG and now my firewall is disabled and i can't turn it on. I went to control panel and tried there but couln't enable there either.The on button is greyed out so i can't make it enable.
