Connecting DSL to Ethernet Home Network??

I installed a DSL package last night: filter and modem. When I connect the DSL modem's Ethernet RJ45 directly into my computer NIC input, the DSL connection works.

However, when I move the modem's Ethernet connection to my existing router (I think it is a router) modem input and connect my computer's NIC to one of the Ethernet ports on this router my computer can not find the modem/DSL. The DSL modem has a light indicating it is "happy" with the Ethernet connection to the router.

Any advice on how to make use of the router modem connection to provide access to the DSL moden (from all computers on the home network) will be appreciated.
