I did not buy the slide-in, I bought the induction cooktop. However that did not qualify for any rebate. It was the double wall oven (non-Icon) that qualified for the rebate. DH called our saleman and he called the Rep and after a few more converstaions we are getting our rebate - already got confirmation from the rebate center and all. We are also going to be getting the free pan that comes with our cooktop - for some reason all the paper work seems to have gotten lost even though it was not mailed to the same PO Box (same physical location though) and not mailed at the same time. I've read other people report that the intitial response from Electrolux has been "so sorry, you are out of luck" but if you are persistant you will get to someone who says "I will personally make sure you are taken care of" and they do just that. My husband scanned all the paperwork we had and emailed it to the individual and she had it all taken care of in less than an hour. I think part of the problem in my situation is that it appears Elux changed software for the registration and rebate, and my stuff was after the change but too early to be automatically in the new system. I could not do anything online, I had to mail it all in because mine was about the last offer before the automatied system could be used. I'm satisfied - I have an email confirming I will get my rebate of $289 for the purchase of the wall oven - It should show up in the next 6 - 8 weeks. And also during this time I should get the smaller pan in the mail with a coupon off additional pan purchases if I want to fill out that set - the special offer that went with the cooktop.

I've had the new Jenn-Air combo oven for a couple of months now and have been very happy with it. I got the 30" SS microwave oven (without convection)/convection oven combination. The one you are referring to is an upgraded model and has a larger LCD control panel so I think the user menus are a bit different. I agree the specs on the JA are better than the KA and were worth the extra money for me. (I really only had a choice between the KA and JA combo due to space constraints) My one complaint about the unit is that once the microwave has finished cooking the fan stays on until you open the door. I see no useful reason for this and forces me to get over to the microwave sooner because I can't stand the fan noise. This probably wouldn't bother most people though.

There are pros and cons for sure. The problem with stacked separtes is that on micorwave oven with doors that open down, if they are too high they will be difficult for my wife to use. With separates you not only need to account for the required separation between the two units (usualy 3") but the oven below also has a control panel, which in a combi oven is not there. So in a combi the upper microwave is at a good height for my wife. I could lower the oven but then the oven is kind of low. In a combi repairs is a concern as you stated. A combi can weigh 250 pounds, not exactly easy to deal with. BTW.. Jenn-air makes a combi with a speed oven on top. Many have negative views of Jenn Air on here, mostly from before they were bought out my Whirlpool. Then again not many Whirlpool admirers either! So what's a person supposed to do? The new E'lux units which are not yet shipping, look like an alternative to Whirlpool and Jenn-Air. Most other combis look like a regular microwave with a decorative trim panel to make it look like an intgerated unit. Ugly in my opinion.

I got a Miele Chef Speed oven. The reason it won over Electrolux was due to the fact that I can do undercounter(E'lux does not allow undercounter) installation AND that it is only 24 inches wide. For me, the space constraint was very important. I thought the functionality was quite similar; minor differences here and there. MW function works like a standard MW... We use is as MW quite a bit to reheat food/coffee. My kids don't eat baked potatoes. With all due respects to the great potato race.... no need for that function. regarding above post....I have never MW'ed corn on the cob. I rarely use the MW to actually cook food. I don't think the food tastes very good when cooked in the MW, IMHO. We tend to roast the corn on the cob in its husk on the BBQ... Try that sometime. The corn is moist and sweet. It takes about 15 minutes but worth every minute of it. I have Viking gas range with gas oven. I find that the amount of heat generated from the gas oven is far suprerior to the Miele speed oven even though it has 240V for roasting vegies and meat. This is what I noticed years ago when I first transitioned from electric oven to high powered gas oven; higher heat output even though the temperature was the same. However, Miele bakes pastries better/more evenly than the gas oven. I actually love having BOTH gas and electric ovens. They behave very differently! The reason I got a Miele versus a MW with convection oven was its 240V baking ability. I am not sure how cookies/pies would bake with 120V convection oven. Does anyone know? The Miele bakes very evenly and functions superbly as a second oven. I bake pastries/cookies etc with the Miele preferentially over my gas oven. I don't use the Miele to toast bread. I like the toaster's ability to pop up the bread when done. If I use the Miele speed oven to toast bread, I have to watch it or "program" it for a few minutes. It just is too much trouble when I can slide the bread into the toaster and push a button. I still have the toaster oven on the counter, but the only time I am using it is for toasting bread.... We have not quite decided what to do with the toaster oven. The space is not a premium so we are keeping it for now. Hope my own reasoning/experience helps with your decision making. I did not get the Advantium because it really seemed to not work quite as well as a pure baking oven. It also seemed to have cavity that is not as tall. I can bake two full trays of cookies quite evenly in the Miele. I need to experiment with three trays.
