I've had that for centuries it seems TIA To be honest with you I am unfamiliar with the software Bazooka but, I did look it up to see what program you were talking about. I have never used Bazooka and so I am unable to give you an opinion on it. Sorry. For those of you who mentioned Malwarebytes, Superantispyware and Spyware Blaster, I have them on this OS. I have had Spyware Blaster for quite awhile now and I downloaded the other two last year. I am very pleased with these programs and appreciate the help that was given to me so that I could download them. I use to have AdAware when it was a good program and thought I would take the chance with the current AdAware and I have become very disappointed with it. You are right it is not the same and that is why I want to remove it. I have given my son the links for the programs that you have recomended and for the removal of AdAware. It just seemed odd that we were both experiencing the same problem with our firewalls and like I said that was the only thing that we had in common on our computers. My sister and Nephew both had problems and they uninstalled AdAware and their computers started working correctly. About Irfanview, I think I will remove the old one rather than write over it and start fresh. I don't need anymore conflicts. One last thing I downloaded Auslogics and was surprised how well it did. My computer was really starting to act up and at first I didn't think I was going to be able to run a check disk. I messed with it and finally got it to work and after I ran the check disk I used the Auslogics Disk Defrag and my computer came back to life so to speak. There's a newer version of AdAware now. SE Personal has been discontinued and the web update no longer functions... you can still manually down load the update Definitions file , unzip it and copy it to the AdAware folder to overwrite the Definitions file. Or just uninstall the SE version and install the newer free version. Which may be the better choice.

My experience on dialup was sad. I was the very last on the telephone line, way out in the sticks, and on good days I downloaded at 4kb/sec dropping to a whopping 2kb in busy times. Seriously consider what can go wrong. The computer as a whole can handle huge amounts of data so it is not at risk. The modem will hopefully act at maximum capacity which is a fraction of the computer's capacity. There is no problem - not the way I see it anyway. Time to enjoy your new confuser On various forums you can see threads on internet speed and people wanting confirmation that they had good downloads. I have always understood the internet is very fluid, your information can pass through numerous servers en route and you have no control over that. So if you hit 3 busy servers on a 5 server hop you cannot expect the best speed. Some web sites are always slow if you visit often you can see that happens.

Hi ravencajun, When the old AdAware went down I had no idea where to go, it all was so confusing to me, so I decided to put the new AdAware in to see how it would do. It has done well up until now and this is the first time that I have had compatiblity Issues with Spybot Search And Destroy. I have had AdAware several months now. This is really odd, cause I would have thought there would have been problems before now. Do I just take AdAware out using Add/Remove Programs? Will that get it all out? How is the install for superantispyware, is it hard to download or is it a simple install? What is your personal opinion of superantispyware? Pros & Cons. If you don't mind doing that for me?
