If you do not have one of these programs installed, the Spelling command is not available. In the New Message window, click Spelling on the toolbar, or on the Tools menu, click Spelling. Note To customize the way your spelling checker works, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then select the Spelling tab."

We had a problem with the computer, and my son had to run several checks to clear it of problems picked up. Everything seems to be working now except spell check. I went to Word (not OE)and typed a sentence with errors. A window came up that said that MSSpell check could not be found. After that I typed another document with spelling errors, and it came up that the spell check was complete, but it did not pick up the errors. I guess my spell check got deleted somehow, so maybe I need to reinstall Word?

The compress feature is really no big deal and by default is set to act every 100 times your e-mail client closes. The action can be stopped or the numeric changed. I'm on a Vista system with Windows Mail right now. I don't recall if the location is the same for OE. Activate the mail client>Tools>Options>Advanced Tab> on the bottom of the tab click Maintenance button> make adjustments close>Apply. If this is not exactly correct for OE it will give you a general approach for finding the feature. As Owbist reports it removes nothing. The action is exactly the same as the option provided in the Disk Cleanup utility. When used more data is put in less space. I would leave it alone. DA
