Outlook Express spell check?

On my old computer I had Outlook Express and it had a spell check that I could check to spell check all my emails and etc.

I have the same system...IE6, OE6, and Xp home addition.

Can anyone tell me just where I can download a new OE or at least to upgrade, so I can still have the spell check I used to have on my old computer?

You need to add something to get OE6 to spell check. Word would do it you had it but there are free ones around. Here's a link to one: Spell check at major geeks.

As a user stuck on an antique DUN I recognize your concern regarding your e-mail. It is my guess you are not speaking of your e-mail in general, but rather e-mails that are graphic intensive or have photo attachments. Since you are on a DUN it will make little difference if you convert to a web-based account or not. Your system will still have to download the e-mails and their attachments into a temporary file for the web-based client to open them. There are a couple of things that you can do, but I am going to wait to see if my assumption is correct. I do as Gene reports and automatically purge my deleted e-mail upon closing Windows Mail, and previously OE. However, if you decide to enroll in this option once the e-mail is deleted it is gone forever. If Windows ever wants to compact your e-mail allow it to do so. DA

No - I checked that. I have googled and found a few instances of this problem - and they all seem to relate to IE8. No real solutions, though some have seemed to correct it. I guess I can save the attachement and just open it from my desktop. Thanks for your input RC.
