IE 7 disappeared?

I was fooling around with my computer, disk clean-up and Pitstop scans and changing some settings and somehow IE disappeared. No icon, doesn't show in the programs list. It does show on the Add/Remove, but it doesn't appear on the machine. I can't open it from Add/Remove.

To make matters worse, I changed the amount of space for System Restore and it doesn't appear I have any restore dates. Is there some way I can find IE? I rarely use it, but I think it should be around somewhere.

It should be in C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer

You may have to download and install again to fix it.

iexplore
Next,, and name it

There are different things you can do to control privacy. You can set your browser to store no cookies, you can surf anonymously by going through a site that will create a new ip address randomly for each site visited so you cannot be traced (what hackers do), all kinds of stuff. But it takes research and reading to do the stuff. You have to decide if the effort it takes is worth it. I use firefox and don't get popups any more. Also disables almost all advertisements.

genes- Just so you know...I, too, find the UAC annoying for repeatedly asking permission. However, it has also saved me a couple of times from having rogue software installed without my knowledge when I was at a web site that was less-than-legit. I do a lot of web searches and more than once I've clicked on a link from a Google search that looked useful, and ended up at a site that has bad intentions. Bottomline: I have chosen to leave the UAC on.

Removed IE7, now have no IE?

I reinstalled IE7 since the download that's supposedly for IE6 SP 2 doesn't say IE, it just says XP SP2. I don't understand. And something was wrong with the download or something. It was running slow & a couple tries got me some sort of error page I didn't make note of. Anyhow, after re-downloading IE7 I'm still getting the original error, practically every time I close out of IE. It's not the one I got after removing IE. "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for this inconvenience." I did a print screen of error screen & the two following pages; Report Contents & Error Signature Reporting Details, in case Best Buy can figure out what the deal is when I take it in for its next 'under warranty' visit. I'm just going to post a different thread about which IE tab is best for Mozilla so I can run McAfee Spyware Scan via Comcast on Mozilla. Computers frustrate me.

Yahoo does that to me occasionally while they work on the server or page coding ...or do some yahoolagans. Usually doesnt last but half day at most. Sometimes your cookies get stale. Maybe, Sign out of yahoo and delete your yahoo cookies. Then when you sign back in, maybe you'll get lucky. At least you'll get fresh baked goods.

You guys are unbelievable. I found it by following Mikie's directions. Randy, it wasn't listed as Internet Explorer, it was iexplore.exe.

Don't know what the he** I did, but I think I know. Went to disk cleanup and noticed an Options tab. It asked if Windows could remove programs I don't use. I said yes. I think it went with a few other things. That's the only thing I can think of. That's what happens when you have too much time on your hands...

I guess I should have said it was inside the Internet Explorer folder and to right click the icon and send to/desktop (create shortcut)
