HI from the Denver area, We are beginning a major remodel of our kitchen and tenatively have set a budget of 12K for our appliances: induction cooktop, refrigerator, convection wall oven, convection/microwave oven (like the GE Profile at this point the 110 version), dishwasher and we think Asko at this point.

We are struggling with the refrigerator decision the most as we want counter depth at this point with bottom freezer. We are working hard to get all energy star rated appliances as well.

Good luck in your search as well. Any body have suggestions at the price point we are trying to stay at?

I've been shopping around, have just finished a remodel and have bought several appliances, so I'll take a crack - please note the following price ranges assume mid-range models and shopping around carefully for the best price. I've included what I just bought with notes in italics:

Fridge: $1,000-$2,000 (add $500-$800 for counter depth)
- I compromised and kept my existing fridge
Range: $1,000-$2,500 (Assuming 30" range)
I bought a GE Cafe AG range which normally retails for $2,200-$2,600, but I always look at the "scratch & dents" and found one with some minor scratches for $1,440
Dishwasher: $500-$1,000
I bought a higher end ultra quiet Bosch stainless for $865 - I just saw it at the same store I bought it at (45 days later) for $200 less because they're discontinuing the model (Them's the breaks!)
Microwave: $50-$200
- I bought a small cheap one for $35, I don't really use a lot of fancy features and generally don't understand paying a ton of money for one - I'd rather just replace the inexpensive one when it dies. Down the road I'd love to get an Advantium, but it wasn't in the budget this time around.

Total estimated price range for Fridge, Range, Dishwasher and Microwave $2,550 - $6,500 Best wishes - it'll be fun to see what others say.

Last year, we purchased everything from Lowes, because they sent us a 10% card for up to $5,000.00! We choose all Kitchenaid SS as they were giving a $500 rebate as well. We purchased the KBLA22KRSS single door bottom freezer refrigerator, the KESS907 slide in range with convection oven, the KHTU105 30" 600cfm range hood, and the Lowes Kitchenaid model KUDLO2FR Dishwasher. We purchased the 5 year extended service plan. It was only around $150 for 3 appliances and we donÂt have to choose which ones of the four are covered until we need to use it. (We also got 10% off that.) Again service was great; Lowes upgraded the range at no charge because they didnÂt have the one we ordered. They exchanged the refer because the door swing was wrong (my mistake?), no questions asked, and they rebated us another $50.00 for delivery. Total cost about $4,000.

Thanks for the replies so far. The person who asked me was hoping he could do it for around $2,000. That struck me as very low, which is why I wanted to get a read from all of you.

$2,000 is pretty low even for basic appliances. The cheapest stainless steel fridge alone would probably be around $1,000 and a range, dishwasher and some type of ventilation (either overhead micro or range hood) would certainly be more than another $1,000. He could probably get all the appliances for $2,000 if he went with white or black, but even then you are looking at bottom of the line stuff for that price point.
I'm doing a mid-level appliance package and what I'm getting is the following:
Electrolux Icon 6 burner gas cooktop - $1,000 (got floor model - this is usually around $1600) - got this mainly for the 17,000 BTU burner which is unusual at this price point
LG bottom mount fridge - $1200 - not CD - having cabinets specially built to enclose
Frigidaire Double Wall Ovens - $2,000
Rangemaster Elite Range Hood - $800?? - not sure of final price on this as I'll need some stuff for the external blower
Frigidaire DW - $600 ish
All of these are in stainless steel.
As you can see, my appliance total is nearly $6,000 for what I consider mid-range choices.

Thanks, afr66. I am glad you mentioned having cabs built to enclose the fridge. Doing that, or recessing the fridge is a way to save that I will pass on.

Have you heard especially good things about the Frigidaire DW?
