Thanks all.....this granite just MADE my kitchen!! Like I said before, my 3rd slad didn't match. Delicatus is one of those stones that varies a LOT. The first 2 slabs used in my kitchen were very similar but the other slab they had was way to pink. I waited for several more shipments before finding the 3rd slab. And it doesn't match, but is still so gorgeous I didn't care. srg215...someone here posted their white kitchen with Delicatus a while back and it was amazing. I have white trim around the window in the livingroom where my delicatus window sill is and it looks wonderful with the granite. To be honest, I was surprised. I really wondered how white would go with it, but it looks amazing.

So, I have no idea about backsplashes. We are splurging on the Azul OR the Bordeaux because they are both in the premium range where we are and we were originally trying for the low to mid range, but of course every single thing we love was premium. I was honestly just thinking of like a cream/white subway tile with sort of a brick look if that makes sense, but my husband is going to have to install it (which he can definitely do) because we blew our budget on the granite. Uggh. I love the idea of the granite being the focal point, but my biggest concern is that I tend to tire of things and this is a huge investment. I just can't see myself tiring of the Azul.

Hi Tuoihong- Glad you went with WF. Just read the thread and was thinking from early in the thread that WF was where your heart was. IMHO, SLab #1 is a little quieter, whereas #2 is a bit splotchy, chaotic. They're both gorgeous, but if I had to pick, it would be #1, which already has plenty of movement and visual interest but provides a calmer, more uniform look. Imagine you're making the decision by flipping a coin. Slab #1 is heads, #2 tails. While it's up in the air, about to fall, are you in your heart of hearts hoping for heads or tails? An idea similar to Beekeeper's Wife's, it helps clear away the noise and show you where your heart is.

CL777, totally understand... your kitchen is not small at all, its bright, airy and open, very nice.. i still think you should bring a sample of your cabs to put up against any stone u choose...it really will help u decide... my advice to you and anyone trying to pick granite is: You will know it when u see it.!!! i did the same thing and looked at least 30 slabs if not more..some i really liked but i just could not pull the trigger, i just didn't LOVE it. and when u are spending that much money, you better love it. .when i saw mine, magma gold/sedna (2 names for same stone), i knew that was it, i did not want to look anymore. the counter guy wanted to take me to another slab yard and I said "nope, this is it"....trust me, u will know!!! another thing i did which really helped me decide is put a incandescent light up against the stone.. you really get the true colors of the stone. with fluorescents you don't.. that's if you are in an indoor slab yard, of course... bring your cab sample, paint sample, floor sample and anything else u have because it will all help u decide!! best of luck, i know its a tough decision :)
