Check out local governments for their auction web sites or how they dispose of them. This includes local, state, police, school boards. All of them need to dispose of computers when upgrading. I included the link below purely as an example, I don't expect you to come racing up the the Great White North any time soon ;-) Fruitjar is right about the local small computer guy. There are thousands of ex office machine out there that need a good home. Be sure to have all the major components listed on the bill of sale. Check out your local Value Village, Goodwill or other charity store for a mouse and keyboard for peanuts then this cannot muddy your deal. Be very wary of your local craigslist or Kiijii because many of those advertisers make a business out of it. Not suggesting they are all crooks at all but caution before can avoid a headache later. Wow, hopefully Lexmark have improved their products according to the 2 votes above. Good news! Lexmark were once very good printers then they seemed to go to the cheap and nasty stuff. Just this weekend I removed Lexmark X4250 from my wife's computer, it was troublesome from day one and Lexmark offered no fix so I had to find my own cure. Consider a laser printer - do you really need colour? Much cheaper to run, and the cartridges don't dry out, which can happen before you've used up the ink. It might be worth considering something like a laser all in one, plus a separate one for colour, if you really need it. Brand wise, I love my samsung laser, it's just a printer but it works great, the drivers are good and it's good to use. I also have an hp all in one Officejet 7200. Hardware, good, but it did crap out under warranty, software in theory great (will allow you to scan direct to pdf if you're using a mac) but in practice, lots and lots of problems with hp drivers and the software, in my experience anyway, and this is my second hp AIO.

If your closet is 3.5' deep you have plenty of room to put in a computer desk. I am not talking about having you to work inside the closet. Just having the desk and shelves in the closet. Then you open the bifold doors and pull up a chair and pull out the keyboard tray from the desk. You would have lots of breathing room. You wouldn't be *inside* the closet at all. You could keep all the peripherals off to the side in the closet behind the wall that you say you have for storage in the closet. When you are done move the chair back and pull the closet doors closed. All the paperwork mess is hidden. You could build a custom desk and shelving as another option. If you really want to put a TV on the room, why not consider puttting the TV on the wall above the dresser rather than having the mirror. Could this work for you? You have a connecting bathroom with a mirror to use and probably do not need another huge mirror a few steps away in the bedroom. Mirrors in bedrooms are bad Feng Shui anyway, then again, so are having TVs in the bedroom, but if it fits your lifstyle then do it. You could also get a matching modular entertainment center put the TV in it and use the drawers for your socks and sweaters. There is no rule that says you have to use the drawers for media related items.
