Comments (3)Photo not showing, but I think I understand what you are considering. If so, I am doing the same and it shouldn't be a problem to get the vacuum wand back there to get dust and hair. Our isn't installed yet, but it will be at leads 4" from the back wall, with more space at the ends....See MoreTub or no tub - looking for opinions
Comments (15)Our carpenter/foreman is married to our real estate agent. She (agent) said that we should definitely have a tub in our MB for resale - b/c people will want it, even though they may never use it! Carpenter said to toss the tub - a larger shower would be better. We tossed the tub, replaced it with a large walk in shower. Shower will have a handheld shower head - one of those on a sliding bar - and a built in bench, also "nonhospital" grab bars. We found some *great* tiles for a small tile mural with matching accent tiles - should be very nice, and much more attractive and useful than a tub. We did agree to a tub in the second bathroom - a tub/shower combo. If I had my druthers, I'd switch that tub to a shower as well. Oh well. This is a one story house, so both bathrooms can be reached without stairs. We're putting a bench in the extra space in our master bathroom. You know, for sitting on after your shower, drying your toes off, etc. Although we did also consider a cabinet for towels. Extra storage. Most people we've talked to say that they rarely use bathtubs as adults. We feel good about our decision....See Morecleaning behind a free standing tub
Comments (2)I stayed in an air bnb that had a wet room with a freestanding tub, and EVERYTHING got wet when using the shower. If it were my home I’d be unable to clean between the tub and the 2 walls that were around it (back wall, side wall and open on the 3rd side to shower. I didn’t seem practical to me. Now, if it was a huge bathroom where you could easily mop around the tub I guess that would be better. Better yet would be to at least have 1 wall of a glass partition between tub and shower to reduce splashing onto tub with every shower. Also, the floor, toilet, TP, towels, and sink would all get wet every time. It’s not for me at all....See Morefree standing tub placement
Comments (8)Why is the tile not square to the room wall is the bigger question. What in your framing is 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 off, that the tile was oriented to, to create this poor tile and tub alignment? Who built the room so out of square? And why was not a different tile choice and pattern chosen to minimize the framing issue, if the framing could (inexplicably) not be corrected? Who designed this space, and let that big compounded mistake upon mistake slip through the cracks? This is not the plumber’s issue. It started with the framing, several lifetimes ago....See Morewritersblock (9b/10a)
