What's the mixed message? I use half a miele tab in my Bosch and it cleans excellently well, too. I used to use Cascade and another powder of some sort (Pure Power or something like that) and that cleaned excellently, too. I prefer the Miele tabs because I find it easier to figure out the fraction of the tablet I need to use. I find it easier and less work than using teaspoons and whatnot ...

I so rarely come to this forum that I didnt even have it bookmarked - I have a question but began to glance over the thread titles and this one stopped me dead it my tracks. I just KNEW what the pictures would look like if anyone posted one! I love this thread, it was so much fun to read. Im very particular about everything - except my cookie sheets and, I must confess, my muffin tins. They look just as bad as the sheets. Well, they did. Besides some family and a couple who are more family than some of my family, we unexpectedly but gladly insisted upon another couple coming over for Thanksgiving dinner when I found out that bit by bit their plans unraveled. I have recently been to her home for a cocktail type of party and her cookie sheets and baking pans were well used but pristine. The idea that she would see the shape of mine threw me into a panic and I went out and replaced them all. Mine get badly burnt by the use of spray pam. I tend to use parchment paper/cupcake papers but all it takes is one spray without elbow greasing them clean and that stuff burns in the very next time they are used. I have sworn to myself that I will keep them looking nice and so far I actually have. Check back in a year though, and that first photo in this thread will likely be what mine will look like. I didnt know that parchment paper could be used for roasting. What a nifty piece of info! With my lipped pans I would use aluminum foil and a bit of olive oil but its wonderful to know that I can use the paper for things other than just normal baking temps which are generally fast baking. sjhockeyfan - I rinse them out and drip dry them before they go in the bin. Keeps everything cleaner and a bit less smelly. You could practically eat out of my recycling bin! Not so much off my floors, unless you come over one minute after my cleaner leaves. I think I mentioned before, trash is serious business up here in NS. Compost, trash, paper, recycling, cardboard are the five separate things our city mandates. Then I have another compost going for my compost pile and I separate out my refundable bottles and cans so the pickers can take them without rooting through my recyclables (a few mornings picking up recyling all over the street from a ripped open bag teaches you that trick). Ours has been installed for a while now, and we've not had one issue, including leaks. My DH did all the plumbing, but he's good at doing such things. As others have said before, if they leak, it is most likely an install issue. I'll take a moment to elaborate on my experiences thus far: I love our DD and would never, ever go back to a regular dishwasher. Ever. Loading/unloading is unbelievably easy - took maybe a couple times to figure it how to load our items. All items we have fit in the taller top drawer. We make sure to run the lower drawer once a week, also filled (which is also easy, but obviously not as easy as the top one). We have run them together and separately. Noisy? The first time we ran them we both kept walking up, putting our ears next to them to see if they were running! There is one point in the wash which is a bit louder, but loud is not a word to describe it. We can carry on a conversation standing right next to it at that point. We run ours every day, putting every single dish, glass, serving ware, pot, and pan in the drawer. Measuring spoons, cups, sharp knives (yes, my good knives that I'd never have put in the other)... everything that is DW safe goes. Much easier than waiting a couple days to a week and then unloading far more items. Never have had an issue with anything not getting clean and use the standard Medium cycle. No water spots, and dishes come out dry. Ours came with the salt intake, so we have soft water because of that, which is supposed to extend the life of the DD. Both the salt and the rinse aide intakes turn red when they need refilling. The knock to pause/open is wonderful, and works anytime throughout the cycle. Ours has cabinet doors on the fronts and cabinets on either side. We've not seen, and believe me I have stood in front of the DD with my hands feeling everywhere - any sign of steam or issues on down the road which might lead to wood problems. The racks inside ours are ingeniously versatile, and remove for large items, and ease of maintenance. Love the wine stem and knife blade holders. Love the tines that change widths for thin plates or thick bowls. Overall, I'd rate ours 9 out of 10 - only because I never rate anything with a highest score.
