fwiw, from what I've seen (just up on a wall at HD) it doesn't have really usable arm rests, which I find rather comfortable when I'm bathing. Fake armrests that aren't enough to support anything really bother me. The Devonshire appears to have slightly more substantial armrests, and not that much more busy a design. I do love the height aspect, though. Why can't they do that with more models?

Wish I could help. I'm in the midst of a bathtub dilemma myself :( Who knew it would be so complicated! Kohler Archer is out for us because it's acrylic. I don't like American Standard ANYthing but was willing to go with it because it's proven almost impossible to find what we want. When my husband saw that the bottom of the bathing well of the (Cambridge) tub was 6" SHORTER than the tub he has now, he nixed that one too.

The Archer tub does come in a 60x30 size and if that's what you asked for that's what you should get. The Archer is a very popular tub and I doubt that it is a special order unless your supplier doesn't normally carry Kohler products. The 60x32 is even available at the big box stores. When my daughter bought her 60x32 Archer tub it was not a special order. I think you are being given a line of b.s. The 60x30 Archer tub is shown on the Kohler website. It is available with or without an integral apron front and comes with either a left hand or right hand drain. I believe the only difference between the 30" wide and the 32" is that the 30" is made with a new type of acrylic. We replaced an older Underscore overmount that was improperly being used for a tub/shower combo with a newer Underscore alcove tub, no apron K-1121-R-0. The 30” width is no problem, I would be more concerned about her height as far as ability to get out of the tub as its somewhat deep (great for soaking!). I am 6’ 260lbs and feel the tub is still roomy. We did have problems ordering the tub so I recommend ordering before you start construction. We got a left facing tub first, the second tub was cracked, the third one was fine. Ordered through Home Depot first and then Amazon, returns were all handled just fine. Photo is after tile but before the glass swinging splash panel was installed.
