My semi-experience with Americast is that it sucks :o My parents have had Americast fixtures in their last two homes they built. Chipping, cracking, worn finishes...all within a couple of years. Over the years, I've read countless stories saying the same. Monica

Didn't know this was available with an internal heater. I did try out an standard Archer tub in that size and found it too narrow - the full-lengh armrest and curved floor steal alot of interior space. Like the high-mounted overflow drain though that allows a deep soak without an overly high sidewall to climb over.

Hi Linelle! I was asking because it's a comfort soaking tub, and has some indents for arms while laying down. It gets RAVE reviews as a tub, for comfort and extra depth. I'm asking specifically about showering because my kids/husband will mostly be using it as a shower and I want to be sure there is enough foot room, despite the indents. It's pricier than I wanted to spend, but if I'm not going to get my Jacuzzi (it's over 1K = over budget) that I know I'd love, at least a real soaking tub would be a really good runner up.

The Archer tub does come in a 60x30 size and if that's what you asked for that's what you should get. The Archer is a very popular tub and I doubt that it is a special order unless your supplier doesn't normally carry Kohler products. The 60x32 is even available at the big box stores. When my daughter bought her 60x32 Archer tub it was not a special order. I think you are being given a line of b.s. The 60x30 Archer tub is shown on the Kohler website. It is available with or without an integral apron front and comes with either a left hand or right hand drain. I believe the only difference between the 30" wide and the 32" is that the 30" is made with a new type of acrylic.
