Replacing shower valve question

We're re-doing our ensuite and our kids bathrooms. I'm lining up the fixtures (will be purchasing online) but an wondering if I need to get the valves. I'm looking at the Moen 90 shower faucet and trim on Amazon and they indicate no valve included - I'm assuming I need to get the matching valve (posi-temp or Moentrol)...and that's fine for our ensuite as we're removing the wall time and have easy access to the plumbing.

But in our kid's bathroom, we're just re-doing the floor tile - I don't suppose I can use a Moen 90 Posi-temp shower and tub faucet with the existing American standard valves?
