Jem! Thank you. I was already thinking of sharing this before reading your post. Conversation with my 16-year old today: "How come you agreed to this?" he asks. Raised eyebrow. "I know why people celebrate Mothers' Day. Why are you agreeing to do it?" he amplifies. "Because of the size of babies' noses," I reply without thinking. He raises his eyebrows. I can tell he's already starting to regret the conversation and I have to stand by my remark now lol. "Well," I explain. "They're really very small, babies' noses; very easy to pinch and it will probably only take a few minutes. Next time your mother p*sses you off, think about that for a moment." It's conversations like this that I enjoy most about motherhood. Thank your mothers today! lol Pagan

Bluebell, yes! I'm looking for any of those tips. I actually do know the ones you listed. I've never been so obsessed with a heating pad; 3 or 4, is 4 too hot? Is 3 too cool? Haha. I don't know of any nursing mom cats or how to find one. The interwebs says she should have doubled her weight this first week but she's only gone from 3.2oz to 4oz. She eats every 2-2.5 hours, went up to 4cc per feeding today. She hates to be pottied and cat-cusses me at the top of her lungs but all of that is good. And I already have too many cats. I've always been very firm about 2 only but right now I have 4, before adding her. I'm pretty tired. I'm actually on sick leave and waiting on a Rheumotologist appt to figure out what is wrong. My son helps (former vet tech) but works long hours. The vet he worked for never fostered kittens, so he's not a big source of info. Honestly, breastfeeding a new baby was waaaay easier. And I was younger.

Thank you, and a Happy Mother's Day to you too, and to everyone who functions as a mother, no matter who/what they are nurturing. Both my girls stopped today to visit. I had to smile, I know my kids well. Amanda brought a Family Farm gift certificate to go toward a new gate for the barnyard. Ashley brought flowers. One very sensible girl and one more emotional one, and they are both like me in their own ways. Plus they brought the Grandkids, so it's all good! I did not cook, other than a pan of brownies I made last night. Elery cooked a chuck roast, "pulled" it and mixed it with BBQ sauce, to be eaten on buns. It was pretty darned good, too! Annie

Thank you for your kind wishes! Looking good. At work, my girlfriends and I have sushi Thursday. Now, instead, we Zoom. We TOTALLY miss it. There are no establishments in my corner and I can't Uber Eats, Door Dash, etc. anything reasonable. I've tried a couple of times, but it just isn't the same. Man, I miss fried lobster sushi rolls and sparkling sake.

Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day! Did anyone receive any fabulous dishware or set any special tables they want to share? Would love to see...

After church, we went with my Mom and family to a local hotel which puts on a yummy brunch for Mother's Day. Then we were off to visit DH's mom who unfortunately is in an extended care facility due to having had a stroke 3 yrs ago. She is still pretty much "with it" for the most part and can talk, it is just she is paralyzed on one side and is confined to a wheelchair. It was a relaxing Mother's Day and while it was nice to have DS home, I also missed my DD who had to work and couldn't be here. Fortunately, she is coming home next wknd and we will celebrate then.

A Belated Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms out there! Mine was exactly as I wanted it to be, peaceful and restful. It was a sunny, warm day and I got to read, rest and be with my family out on our patios all day. DH & DD made us Eggs Benedict and a wonderful mixed fruit and yogurt parfait for breakfast. For lunch we had Shrimp Salad Sandwiches, fresh apricots and a nice glass of chilled wine. For dinner DH grilled out steaks and made an awesome Asparagus Au Gratin. For dessert we had gourmet rootbeer floats. I get to choose the main dish for each of my Mother's Day meals every year and DH, who's a fantastic cook has a great time coming up with the menus, makes everything. He and DD do all the dishes, too!
DS called from grad school to wish me a happy Mother's Day :~) We'll be traveling there in a few weeks to help him pack up and move home for the summer.
It's been nice to read about your M's Days here. Hope everyone chimes in.

I am sorry I am late..
We were gone for the weekend..Lily's First Communion and reception and then the next day son took us out for Mother's Day. It was all lovely, but I am tired..lots of activity with 4 little ones!
So I hope you all had a Happy Mother's Day...

and I'm even later!!
So happy VERY belated Mother's Day to all of you!!
My DD worked all day with me on Saturday, so she rested on Sunday!! ODS and family came to surprise us at church...they were a few moments late (drove 2 1/2 hours) and slipped in on the second verse of the first hymn. I heard a small commotion and peeped around the organ to see a little hand waving and a little voice saying "Hi G'mimi"...she can't quite say Grandmommie yet. Shortly the oldest little one figured out how to sneak up the outside aisle, and I then had a "helper" on the bench!
Too cute and I really enjoyed the visit!
