New GE Monogram ZET1RMSS oven

Has anyone seen the new GE Monogram ZET1RMSS single wall oven? Or better yet, does anyone have it? I'm planning on the Monogram Advantium 120V (ZSC1001KSS) and I want to stack another Monogram single oven with it. This new oven looks very nice with the Advantium and it has the full extension racks that I really want but...I'm not sure I like the electronic touch LCD controls and the little screen that stays on while the oven is on. I'm wondering if I should just stick with the ZET1SLSS. Anyone have any opinions?

It looks to me like it's functionally identical to the ZET1PMSS and ZET1SMSS models, but instead of knobs has the electronic touchpad. That's your call whether you want that.

(the PMSS has the roll-out racks, btw, and I believe the SMSS does as well, although not the older-model SLSS)

I have both the Advantium and the ZET1SMSS, although they are not stacked - the big one is under the cooktop and the Advantium is built-in elsewhere at counter height. Nevertheless, I love them both.

Given GE is in the tank w/the government and stands to earn billions on Cap & trade bill I will not purchase anything GE made including watching NBC, CNBC & MSNBC - all are basically gov run media outlets GE is the largest manufacturer of wind turbines as well as other electical generation turbines used in coal, gas, atomic, and hydroelectic electricity generation facilities. With the Obama plan, those cap and trade credits would be issued by the Federal Government, and ultimately, traded just like any stock or bond. GE has apparently, created and entire unit with the Corporation that would deal in the Secondary Market trading these credits. First, they are going to take in billions of dollars from government contracts in wind energy. Second, they perhaps are going to have exclusive control over the secondary market for these cap and trade credits. That, in effect, puts GE in the catbirds seat for all energy produced in this nation as ALL "carbon emission" energy sourced are going to be subject to these carbon schemes. This includes ANY oil related, natural gas related, gasoline, diesel, and any other manufacturer that uses any petro-based component. That means every single plastic container, every car, every chemical fertilizer, every pesticide, every single thing you use will be subject to this scheme as it too, is made from a carbon based material.

I've been looking at the Advantium 120 wall oven and the Miele speed oven. I really want to go with the Miele but threads on this forum have led me to believe it is difficult to clean due to bumps that increase surface area. Then I read (here?) that a new easier to clean model is coming out. My salesperson asked his Miele rep. (I'm in the midwest) and he said release will be Feb. (read: or March, or April...). Also, the Miele is quite a bit more expensive since I am considering the 120. 4 times faster then a regular oven is fast enough for me. Miele has such a great reputation...sigh. As for the wall ovens, I am going a different direction (Bosch dual fuel 30" range) but when I was thinking wall oven, my plan was to go with the 30" Miele since the difference from 24" was @ $650 plus the trim kit for the speed oven. In the scheme of our planned major reno that didn't seem a lot for what it would accomplish. I'm the 'go to' house for family gatherings and that's usually @ 25 people. Do both the Advantium and the Miele speed oven hinge from the bottom or is the Advantium side hinged? I thought Advantium came both ways. That said, I must admit I just can't do a GE wall oven b/c that is what I am replacing (not Monogram) and it has not been a favorite of mine for a variety of reasons. I also have a GE Profile microwave that has been and continues to be great.

I have double wall ovens from Dacor - 27 inch. They work fine including the meat probe. However I still prefer to use a Polder dual thermometer- you get one probe with a thin wire that connects to a small digital screen. It measures both the temperature of the oven and the meat so you get 2 read outs. You can set it to beep when the oven reaches your desired temperature and also set the meat when it reaches the desired temp. I don't think Wolf makes a 27 inch, at least they didn't when I bought my Dacor.

Yes, I have the GE Profile Trivection ovens and love them! I'd get them again. In the interests of full disclosure, though, I would probably also check the Miele ovens...but they are much more expensive...at least they were in 2007. Then and I suspect now, my opinion is that the Trivection ovens are a better deal. I find the Trivection function very easy to use and that it works as advertised. I love making baked white & sweet potatoes now. I used to MW them but the skins were always so soft and they never seemed as good as when baked in the oven. Now, I can bake them in approx 20 minutes and they're perfect...just as I like them....crispy skins & soft insides. Meat, poultry, breads, casseroles...they all cook faster and come out great. When I researched ovens back in 2007, both the Profile & Monogram lines carried the Trivection ovens. Both the GE and Monogram customer service reps (phone) told me the internals of the ovens were identical...the only differences b/w the Profile and Mongram were: (1) Aesthetics - the external appearance. I preferred the Profile look. (2) The Monogram came with a roasting pan (like all ovens used to), the Profile did not. I already had a couple of roasting pans, I didn't need another. (3) Price - the Monogram was a couple of thousand more, as I recall. Bottom line - the Profile & Monogram were identical where it mattered...so I got the Profile. One thing, they did not and still do not come with the full-extension racks. However, as they are wall ovens, I find it's not that big a deal b/c they're high enough that I can easily reach inside if needed.

When I talked with my appliance store, they said that this oven model isn't available yet. They thought it would probably be available in May or June, but weren't sure.

An appliance store here in N. Cal. has this oven live. They have had it on the floor for several weeks. Off topic, they also have the Monogram stainless steel induction cooktop, the one that looks kind of white in the pictures. Boy, does that thing look different in real life!

Hey, not to hijack the thread, but...

luvmyguys - how did the Monogram stainless induction top look? We have one going in our kitchen and decided on it sight unseen. We didn't want black and thought the Thermador silver-mirror finish was to mirrored.

Our appliance place said they would take it back in exchange for another unit if we hated it on delivery.

I do know that the pictures on the Monogram website don't accurately portray what the unit looks like in reality, but unfortuanately no one in NJ or PA seems to have one on display.

I have seen the Monogram stainless rim induction on display, and I thought it had more of a beige-metallic look rather than silver which I was expecting. It definitely doesn't look white though.

I've got the Monogram 30" stainless induction unit and it looks great. I really like it. It looks almost like a mirror finish rather than the typical brushed stainless steel finish you get on appliances.

I echo what mls99 said. It's like a mirror finish and kind of reflects colors around it- that, of course, will make it look somewhat different in each person's kitchen. The saleswoman did say FWIW that they sell far more of this model than the black Monogram induction unit. I was asking about the blue rings on the black unit and she said she has yet to see one because nobody has ordered it.
