Hi Kayla - overall I like the dual fuel range. My husband loves the digital meat thermometer that came with it and we've made the best prime rib roasts since we've gotten this oven. The pre-heat does take awhile but we've gotten used to it. I've made cookies and they turn out great. We have also started using the lower oven more if we're baking something in a shallow dish, frozen garlic bread, rolls and etc. because it doesn't take as long to heat up. We've used the griddle to make sandwiches and pancakes and I'm happy with how that works and the easy clean up. I would say the stove top is easy to scratch if you aren't careful when you clean around the burners. Make sure you lift the grates up, off and set aside to clean and not just lift the front of the grates so you can wipe underneath. You'll scratch the little raised lip on the back of the stove top with the burner grates. I'm still not crazy about the overall height of the stove top but that's not really a fault. My husband on the other hand (6'2" tall) LOVES the dual range and all of it's features. He would highly recommend it to everyone. I like it. We also bought the matching over the range microwave. We bought it because you can bake in it and I thought we would really use that feature a lot but have found it takes a really long time to pre-heat the oven feature of the microwave and you have to use this little round raised baking rack which I have very few dishes that will fit, actually none now that I think about it. I thought it would be more like my old toaster/convection oven that sat on my counter top and it's really not at all. For the most part we just use the microwave to re-heat and warm things. I love, love, love my Monogram DF range. Almost always use the small oven (roast veggies every evening for dinner) and it heats to 400 in under 10 minutes. Exterior door surface stays cool to the touch, you would never know the oven was on if it wasn't lit up and you didn't check the dial. Exhaust is at the top rear so it doesn't exhaust the heat out at you (it's angled slightly toward the burners so doesn't go straight up to the backsplash either). And the full extension oven racks are the bomb. If I had it to do all over again I would pass on the griddle as I've never gotten the hang of seasoning it properly. The grill is great and I use it a lot. I like that there are two separate timers, one for each oven (some ranges we looked at didn't have dual timers). The rangetop has pretty cool reversible grates for wok cooking but I've never tried those myself as I'm not a wokker. On the purely cosmetic side, I think it's nice looking. And the decorative LED running lights look pretty groovy at night. :) Lastly, we had a good service experience. Ours was cosmetically damaged (dented) at the bottom corner when being unloaded from the delivery truck at our home when the dolly was set wrong and they tried to tilt up at the toe plate. It took GE a couple of months, maybe it was 10 weeks, to replace the damaged plate because of some kind of issue with backorder. Not a huge deal because it wasn't a performance problem but we were kinda bummed since it was a brand new range with a dent on the bottom ... so then GE gave us a complimentary 5-year extended warranty because of the delay. We were very satisfied with how they handled that, and we would definitely buy GE again.

Dacor -probable 10 year life. GE Monogram - GE Profile with pro-style door skin. Profile is not a bad oven for the price. Miele- You should list the specific model. These have generally been very good but some had problems keeping even temps. It seems you know the deal on Thermador.Maybe a new owner will chime in but not alot of people on this forum buying Thermador ovens because of the track record you cited. BTW Paying a premium for Dual-Fuel range when you are getting a second electric wall oven makes little sense to me. Yes,electric ovens are better for certain things. Gas ovens have their advantages as well,like roasting meats and baking certain dense breads. I would poke around the threads on this forum and read about the best liked AG pro-style ranges. Capital Culinarian and Bluestar RNB and save about $1500 bucks. Or get the Capital Culinarian with self-clean gas oven and motorized rotisserie and save about $200. Or spend an extra $400 bucks and get them painted in color.

I would write off Viking. Their current owners are embattled with the previous owners over the sale of the company and its condition at the point of sales. Reports of service recently have not been promising either. I have an older 27" oven from Miele. It is over 10yrs old and my cabinet can accommodate a 30" model. I am not sure I would buy a 27" as a replacement. If I were in your shoes, I would replace it with a 30". Good luck!
