Help me choose between these two hoods

I am interested in these two hoods. They both have the same motors and functions except one has halogen lighting and the other florescent lighting- I don't mind either one. I like the simplicity of both and would like to here someone elses opinion. Strictly a style consideration - which one would you get?

Hi Karhog,

Neither are really my style, but Fori is right. What other appliances are you putting around it?

If I had to pick, I'd go with the second one.

Thank you both for your comments! eaglemom100, there is enough room for the toilet if we move the door. The code is 30" and there would be that much space between the wall and the door molding. The toilet I will be using, a Toto, is 18" wide. There would be a window right next to it, and the door would be closed when anyone was using the toilet. I am thinking, though, that it might be strange to have a toilet behind the door. clarosietoo, I agree that Plan 2 gives more space for a vanity. weedyacres, storage is a real problem throughout our house. Our master bedroom (which does not have a master bath, by the way) is quite large, with a sunroom off of it, but it has only one standard closet, about 3' wide. There would not be privacy for the toilet, because when the door was closed, as it would be when anyone was using it, it would be open to the room.

Samsung have a rep for building and selling a lot of good stuff at rock bottom prices but getting pretty snarly when some nobody gets stuck with one of their lemons. It is an attitude that seems to be gaining ground among many foreign appliance makers these days and some that are native to North America as well. Given the odds, your best bet is getting the Costco Samsung you like with the total of 5 years Costco/SquareDeal warranty coverage (final three for an extra $100). Good viewing!

More info needed, but this looks like an apartment or flat in india. And is typical layout with drawing room (kinda like formal living) and puja room which is a prayer room and sink outside to wash hands after meals. If OP can shed further light, would be helpful.

So far the kitchen exists only in my mind, only in the planning stage. I want all white with stainless steel appliances. Here are the other appliances I'm considering. I'm not 100% sure about the fridge.

Those are very modern style hoods. So other factors that might go into the choice are cabinet style and house style also tile and flooring styles. Appliances don't matter as much.

Depends on cabinet and overall style. The first is a tad more delicate and the second beefy.

My personal vote is for the first one. That's the other model that I was considering, but I finally decided on the Luxor model, which is also thin and lights up. Personally I think the Plane model is too "Plain".

The context matters! Without seeing the kitchen I like the sleeker, first version. But I've seen kitchens where the second appears more "stylish", I guess I'd say....

I will be going with the Streamline model. I will post pictures in a few months when renovation is complete. Thanks for all the help.

Karhog, If you have finished your remodel - could you please post pictures? I'm interested in the Streamline & would like to see it installed in a kitchen setting and have your opinion on its performance.
