Shower heads for 4' x 6' shower?
Comments (5)I would go with 1 or 2 regular shower heads and 1 handshower on a slide bar. The handshower on the slidebar comes in handy for shaving legs, showering kids and for cleaning the shower. How many regular shower heads you have will also depend on shower setup (i.e. door placement). The rainshower head mounted on the ceiling is a personal preference thing. We have one and DH does not like it (even though he was the one that specced it). I use it at the end of my shower as a refresher--I run it just long enough for the cold water to dissipate through while the warm regular shower is still running, then I turn them both off. DS2 loves having the rainshower, the regular shower and the handshower going all at once on him (keep in mind he's only 7)--although it does make it feel spa-like without all those wall jets that require so much water pressure and volume. Hope this helps!...See MoreAre rain shower heads and body sprays worth putting in?
Comments (17)Delta Shower Systems are really great. We deal with them every day and they are really an industry leader. All Delta products have a lifetime warranty on both operation and finish so you really can't go wrong. They have a great parts replacement department to help if anything goes wrong. It's a little tricky to put together a shower system with everything needed for installation. Here's a guide we wrote we can help: https://faucetlist.com/blogs/buying-guides/shower-systems With regards to body sprays, Delta has a new style called HydraChoice Body Spray Jets. HydraChoice body sprays automatically pop-out of the wall when you turn on the water.. It is also possible to angle them as you choose once they are pop-out. Read more about these body sprays and watch a video of them in action...they are really cool! https://faucetlist.com/blogs/buying-guides/delta-shower-system-hydrachoice-body-sprays-with-video In regards to whether they are worth it, there are a few things to consider. If you are often cold when you take a shower or have a drafty bathroom then body sprays can help make sure you stay warm. They are designed to surround you with water which is very pleasant. I suppose worth it could also mean do they add value to your home. Well a shower system in the master bath have been shown to increase home value. So why not enjoy your shower while you live there and sell the house for more if you ever move! Comments (3)I just purchased a Hansgrohe Raindance 240 Air 10" showerhead, P/N 27474. Haven't installed it yet - but I bought it based on other positive user reviews of the Air technology - as I have long hair :) I will also have a Hansgrohe hand shower on a wall bar as the "primary" shower in there, (& I threw in a couple of body sprays too!) so I'll be OK if it doesn't perform as well as expected....See MoreHow to reconfigure and re-use some Hansgrohe shower components?
Comments (1)My FIL has a similar vintage Hansgrohe shower system installed in his bathroom. And we put in one of the newer ones (single control for diversion and temperature) about 6 years ago. So, I'll attempt to answer. FWIW, I'd bet that someone removed the flow restrictor from the showerhead. You can probably get a new one that'll get the flow back down to 2.5gpm. I know I've seen plumbers who thought taking this out was an 'upgrade,' when it's really just wasteful of water and energy for heating it. If you're keeping the trims and just reinstalling, I think you can do what you want to. Depending on where the inlets and outlets are on the thermostatic valve, it may take some creative piping to connect it all up in the orientation you want. If you'd like to change out the trim for the valves and thermostatic valve, that's more complicated. Not sure if newer ones would mate up. You'd need to at least pull the trim off the valves and compare the stem to a newer one to see if it's the same. For the thermostatic valve, you may be just stuck. If you have an access panel, you could possibly get a number off the rough valve and see what Hansgrohe says about alternative trims for it. I'm not sure about lifespan on these, but unless you have really hard water or another situation that'd wear out or gum up things quickly, I'd think you're fine. I'm a technical guy, so I won't attempt to answer whether it'd look weird. If you're OK with it, do what you like. Hope that helps....See Moreasharding Harding
