When you find the solution, clue me in! I try the car wash, but they do a worse job of vacuuming than I do. I have an SUV and used to keep the dog in the back which somewhat kept the hair contained. But as she aged it was too hard for her to jump up and she preferred the backseat. The best I've been able to do is put a rubber backed bathroom carpet on the seat which accomplishes three things - collects stray hairs and keeps them from accumulating on the seats and floor, protects the leather, and keeps her from slipping and sliding when we're in motion. About every two weeks, I vacuum and take out the bath carpet and run it through the washer.

That bath carpet may work well for kids riding home from the pool in wet swimsuits, too. Thanks for the inspiration!

When I travel with my dog he seems to shed tons of hair due to stress. :o( I discovered that a vacuum just doesn't cut it. Those hairs just get woven in there and are stubborn to get out. I use masking tape to get the hair out now. I believe that it works much better.

I have used a green scrubbing pad. the pads are rectangular shaped. It has worked on velvet seats, hope it works for you.

Pet sponge works great for me. It's used dry. It is very "tacky" and picks up stuff easily. Has to be washed periodically so buy two. Search for "pet sponge" on google. They are usually somewhere between $5 and $7.

Great tip: just a pair of latex rubber gloves works wonders. Takes the hair off car seats, carpet, bed skirts....like magic.

I use a Miracle Brush..you can find knockoff miracle brushes in most dollar stores for about a dollar or two..they work just as well

One hit I read recently was to take an man's old long-sleeved, button up shirt and put it on the pooch 'til you get to your destination. Knowing MY sweetie, though, she'd probably "have the vapors" at the idea of being in a man's shirt, instead of a ladies' blouse.

Put a sheet or beach towel in the car/truck/suv. Bimbo loves riding and doesn't mind the extra protection at all!

Do you have a shedding blade for grooming? The better ones have a feature where the blade comes out and can be used in a straight line. Works great for getting dog hair off of upholstery and carpet.

Yes, putting a specially cut-out t-shirt on the dog is the answer, though a hassle to keep putting it on and taking it off. The best thing I found for getting up doghair is the round lint-brush that has masking tape on it. Except, again, it's a hassle because you have to keep tearing off the sheets of tape.

My main problem has been ceiling of the car with hair.I wonder if anyone make ceiling cover...I would like to buy it.

Use a regular boar bristle hairbrush to brush the ceiling of your car. It catches all the hair!

But remember to put a label on it so no one uses it for human grooming!

Tape. Wrap your hand in wide packing tape and run it over the hair left from vacuuming.

Rubber gloves and a cup of water is miraculous.

Just moisten your gloved hands and wipe the seat. *Unbelievable* the gobs of hair that release and collect. I do the car and a favorite chair regularly.

Another vote for the pet sponge. I love it in the car. It makes easy work on the floors too.

latex gloves are the only thing that work for me. I have a lab who travels on the back seat more of less wherever I go. I have a cover which tends to slide off and the seat is covered with black hair. I tried sponges, and lots of other things, but these latex gloves are great. Just use them and then throw them away!

I found a vehicle with leather seats for my current vehicle for that reason... I have a tan cocker spaniel and a black lab cross... which is nuts, because I can't even go with a color to at least have it blend until it's cleaned up... one of them will always clash... oh well...

Once you get it clean there are seat protectors which are waterproof and the hair does not seem to get through (at least it did a great job in our car prior to this one)
The floor weren't as much of an issue, but we just shook out the seat protector and threw it in the wash every so often...
