Finally found my coffee table!
Comments (27)thanks all! The table was a deal, too. My inspiration table I found on an auction website for $2K, and I was starting to get discouraged I was going to find something I liked that was within a reasonable budget. AngAx, here's a link for more info on my drapes. They are actually duvet covers. Here is a link that might be useful: Orange Curtains...See MoreFinally Found a Rug for my Home Office
Comments (16)Thanks, everyone! I need to clean up the shelves and put some things away that I will obviously never need again, but.... this was the room our youngest child called "school" during his middle school years between trips to Europe and Japan, California and Costa Rica. He was playing Go competitively at that time, and we loved having the freedom to travel at will. Some of his old schoolbooks are still in that office. He's a junior in college and I am still not ready to let them go. I don't consider myself a helicopter parent but there's probably some name for a person who hangs onto an old eighth grade physics book!...See MoreOpinions please. I think I have finally found the right one.
Comments (56)Ok now I think I get it too- you are just showing as a point of reference how the rooms play off of each other, and are thinking that in addition to doing the kitchen, you would also do the fireplace wall and the wall perpendicular to it(facing the kitchen).... I think that sounds good, but being the cautious type, I think maybe have that in mind but first just do the kitchen - I do think that will look great. And, chances are doing it in the family room will be nice as well, but you might just decide that it could be too much... so I would wait and do one step at a time. Of course , that is my bias because I frequently don't see the obvious and need time to "digest". To repeat though, I do think the larger tiles in the latest rendition will be wonderful in your kitchen. (I believe we have a winner!) :)...See MoreFinally finally found a DR chandy!
Comments (59)Hi again. Sorry for the delay. Holiday madness struck! I ended up using the clear torpedos for a couple of reasons. The drippy tipped ones won't work with shades when I get them. And they were just the easiest to go with when I had a thousand other things to do to prepare for the parties I was hosting that week. DH installed a dimmer, and we were good to go! I can't explain how luxurious and grown-up I feel now with the light fixtures completed in this room! ( We'll ignore the rest of the bare bulbs hanging out around the house still. One room at a time!) Now all I need to do is get some sort of little backsplash on the bar area and find a couple more antique oak chairs and that room is DONE! Hydrangea--those clear bulbs in the photos above do have a bluish tint to them. They were those clean, bright white kind of bulbs that are tinted blue. Took them back! A2--I did see and posted there last night. Not sure I had much to add other than I'm so glad your ovens were quickly and easily fixed without much fuss! Here's how it looks with the remainder of the bulbs in place. Thanks again everyone for the encouragement and opinions!...See Morejannie
