I agree.. love it and the price is awesome! I could see the same pattern in an 8 x10 -- but I wonder if you could flip the rug to orient it in the other direction?

Funkyart-- we did try that but would still have to clip the edge off where there is a diagonal wall, a triangle about 10" on the hypotenuse. I was reluctant to do that to an expensive rug, but wouldn't hesitate to have a $300 one (the cost of most 8x10's at Tuesday) cut and the edge bound, if I could find someone to do that. But apparently at Tuesday morning they never know what rugs they will get in what sizes, and because of the in inventory tags every item has a unique sku number, according to our local manager. So she could not call other stores and find out if they have this rug in a larger size. A 6x9 would be perfect but that's a hard size to find. If I saw the perfect rug I would probably still get it but in the meantime I am just relieved as heck to have found something that covers the bare wood spots :-)

Very nice! And I love the color of your walls! I think rug shopping is so hard - and my husband gets tired of schlepping very quickly.

Thanks, everyone! I need to clean up the shelves and put some things away that I will obviously never need again, but.... this was the room our youngest child called "school" during his middle school years between trips to Europe and Japan, California and Costa Rica. He was playing Go competitively at that time, and we loved having the freedom to travel at will. Some of his old schoolbooks are still in that office. He's a junior in college and I am still not ready to let them go. I don't consider myself a helicopter parent but there's probably some name for a person who hangs onto an old eighth grade physics book!

Looks great. As an aside DH played GO for many many years and taught our boys also. There were so many graduate students that played when he was in grad school and it was easy to find partners. Now the students have no idea of the game and are unable and uninterested in playing. It is an amazing game. we still have the beautiful bowls and stones and board. c

Interesting, C! DS2 played regularly with a group of Asian students at Georgia Tech, he got interested on his own from reading manga about the game and Tech was the only group he could find in Georgia. There were older men from the community there also, they welcomed everyone. DS2 was the only tween and there were never any girls, although there were some very good girls at his kyu level when he went to big competitions.

Love it! We actually tried some orangey colors in paint and wallpaper for our home office, but DH did not like them. So, BM Nantucket fog it will be when I start painting this week.

Looks like a perfect match..........................I have never heard of Go so I looked it up it looks complicated. Maybe easier to learn while playing.

CL blakeley, you're right, it is definitely a learn by doing type of game. It's considered the most complicated game ever devised. There are literally millions of possible moves and outcomes of a game. Once DS2 got to a certain stage we went to Japan where he had tutorials with a Go master. I'd never heard of it until our son expressed the desire to learn to play. It developed his ability to think analytically far beyond his years.

The rug is GORGEOUS! Did it have a manufacturer's label on the back?

The Tuesday Morning in my area is (sorry, guys) like a dump. I have only been it in three times over several years because it seems as if stock is just dropped, with no organization. I have seen other people here have great luck at the ones in their areas.
