FrenchDoor Ovens - BlueStar ?who has? like it?

about to do kitchen remodel within same footprint...and not changing the windows or doors. so am working within constraints.

Wanted to do wall (raised) oven but have to compromise because continuous counter space more important. Going undercounter, and thinking a 30" French door would be ideal.

We buy for the longterm... 20-25 yrs (am not kidding)and willing to buy better rather than often.

Was thinking of the Blue Star oven. (Am sold on getting a 36" cooktop...and dont want oven and cooktop in same footprint). Am not a baker but do appreciate performance of a good oven.

NEED IDEAS and VALUE your experience/opinions! Thanks

The Bluestar ovens aren't out yet. They are supposedly going to begin shipping any time now to customers who have had them on backorder but that has been the rumor for almost 2 years. :)

The 24" wall ovens were first and have shipped. The 30" are second and the "fab" parts are in process. The ovens will be begin to be assembled this week and next. Full production should be complete by mid to end of April. 36" wall ovens will be last. They are VERY close!!!

We just got a Bluestar oven in December 2020. I agree it's very noisy - after I turn the oven off leave the door open for a bit the fan stays on until it's cooled to 200 so if you leave the door open this happens much faster. That said, the oven works fabulous. I also kind of don't mind the noisy fan because I never accidentally leave the oven on (which I have done on occasion)

They should close at the same time. There are a couple of threads in the appliance and kitchen sections from one of the first purchasers of the ovens. She bought the single wall oven. She liked it, but went through a few working pains that were satisfactorily resolved. You might do a search for Bluestar wall ovens.

Hi all - sorry did not see the earlier comments. marc_miles35 - we put our steam oven below our counter top, where some might put a microwave or freezer drawers. It works great for us there. cltran333 - no issue for me mixing brands in my kitchen. I have the Viking French door over, Wolf cooktop, Wolf steam oven, Subzero integrated fridge, a Subzero drink fridge and a Bosch dishwasher. They all look fine together. More importantly, they all work/function they way we intended and suit our needs. Best of luck with your remodel project.

Here's a thread that started in July of '08 with people wondering when those Bluestar wall ovens will be shipping. I'm not holding my breath.

i hear that these are now avail. anyone have experience? most curious about the effectiveness of the infrared broiler.
Also, do all 3 shelves fully extend. one website said yes, and another showed only the lowest shelf doing so.

only the bottom rack fully extends, you also have 2 x 3/4 regular pull out racks.

As for the Broiler it is the same as in the range 1850 degrees. covers a relatively small area but very powerful.
