Whirlpool dishwasher not cleaning well on top rack
Comments (9)@Travis Buttram, There are many online sources for appliance parts. One that has breakdown diagrams to help identify parts by assembly location is AppliancePartsPros.com. All of them provide searching by model number. Some may not have diagrams but just return a list of parts for the searched model. Identify the part number that's needed, then Google (or your favorite search) the number to find the best price at the various sources that carry it. Be sure to note the manufacturer part number. Some sources refer to items by their own item or stock number up-top and state the manufacturer number down in the description....See MoreMIELE DISHWASHER TOP RACK is SLIPPERY?
Comments (11)I wanted to add that on the left side of the top rack, I removed the little fold down shelf-thingies along with the bracket that held them. My glasses fit better now, but barely. Our coffee mugs slide off, as do my glass measuring cups. It really seems to be designed for espresso cups, and those little drinking glasses you see in Europe. Anything with a larger diameter just does not fit/stay in place. If I could still buy the old rack and have it work with the redesigned water "pipe" I'd do it. If you look in the manual at the loading instructions, they show two layers of little coffee cups on the left side. No one I know uses those very often. I can't even see any of my European relatives using more than one or two a day. Maybe they're targetting people who own that built in coffee maker. DH hypothesizes that they made the areas where you put the cups steeper so that water would run off the tops better. Most of my cups and glasses are pretty flat on the bottom, so I don't know if it does better on that count vs. the old one. As you can tell, the DW is a hot topic over here. LOL. We keep trying to figure out what drove them to select such a poor design. I have to say of all the appliances I purchased for my new kitchen, the DW is the one I like least, whereas in our old house the Miele DW was one of the top two (other being Wolf ovens.) I have multiple complaints, most having to do with the racks. (The other is the control panel and having to click OK so often - can't figure that one out either.)...See Moreaftermarket dishwasher rack?
Comments (13)I don't know if I can help with your situation, but have a Bosch I liked, but hated the bottom rack because all the tines were close together and could not handle bowls. I did a ton of research by checking ebay, and found a Bosch rack from a different model that was the same dimension as mine, but a different layout, it allows deeper bowls on the left hand side, small plates on the right hand side, and large plates along the back, with a utensil rack along the right side. I bought that, and sold my original one on ebay, and have been much happier. It is a pain to do the search because everyone lists racks by model number or part number, not size, but if you send requests to sellers, some will measure them and let you know the size. I think there were less than a half dozen sizes, but numerous layouts over the years, and some were the exact size but have different options, such as allowing you to lay down some of the tines. Just checked ebay and saw there are many available - look for the location of the silverware tray in the photo, that should give you an idea of the layout....See MoreDishwasher with third rack for silverware?
Comments (23)I'm still mulling this over. I've been looking at LG Studio and Signature and GE Profile and Cafe models. They seem to all have the same important features, except that the GE's have heated drying. Reviews are all over the place but seem to be better for the LG's, while the GE reviews mention a lot of repairs. GE parts seem readily available while it's common to wait weeks for LG parts. Would I rather have a dishwater which works well but when it breaks down, I can't get parts in a timely fashion? Or one that has more complaints, but when something breaks, it can be repaired quickly? IDK. I need to decide in the next week or so. As far as an LG suite goes, I don't care if my appliances match or not, but I did buy an LG fridge last fall, and it took me a while to get used to the storage configuration, but I've been very happy with it and have had no problems....See Morespider007
