I Need Your Help, Please :)

Hi :)

Since the day I've joined this forum, I found so many wonderful ideas and saw so many terrific decorations and homemade items, that I thought that you could help me.

I am currently busy working on my Easter website and created a report that I give to my visitors.

But before asking for something even something that is free, people - including myself - have to see what they will get or, at least watch a picture of what on offer.

So, I had to create a cover for the report.

I am a photo editor and design idiot and never satisfied with what I create so, you surely could you help me an tell me which one of these covers are the best and IF they would please.

If they are not as fine as they have to be, I'll create another one and so on until it's perfect.

Here are two covers that I made and the third one is just a template:

This cover is the first I created but I think it looks so "hand made" that I don't like it even if my son told me that it's nice.

This second cover pleases to me but I think that there's something's missing... and I don't know what.

This template is the last one I did, in fact, I used the second cover and just added two lines: one at the top and one at the bottom ; I thought that these lines were what's missing on the second cover but not sure about it.

Oh yes, there are two bells on the covers: it's because in Europe bells bring eggs in our baskets ;-) I think that their colors don't fit the colors of these covers, so, I probably will change their colors.

Oh, and I created another one: don't know if yellow is a color for this purpose...

Hi, Prosperity!

It's really cute and a great idea.

How about using the farther away image of lots of eggs from the first photo (which I adore), but behind the titles, putting a box of a solid color, so you can still read the piece, but still see lots of colored eggs?

Also, I agree if there's any way to change the bells ribbon from red to one of your Easter colors that would make things look really cohesive.

Could you tell us more about the story of bells bringing Easter eggs? Such fun!

hey, when I put the lol at the end of my reply, when I said I would send my infamous typewriter, it was because some of you know the story behind that typewriter.... I got turned into the county, by a tight a$$ neighbor lady, who can't stand my yard. she has precision going on in her boyfriend's yard..manicured lawn, cedar fence(to block the view of my yard)..a few strategically placed planters, probably exact number of inches between... a row of shrubs, lining the driveway..to the point of contention, where I had the property surveyed and pi$$ed her off, royally. so, when the county guy showed up..he made reference to things that should be thrown away. namely my typewriter, which at that time, was simply on the ground, rusty and not being used. as soon as he left, I went to the nursery, bought a few plants that were already established, cuz I wasn't about to wait till spring..this was in this past February.. came home and planted it... now, every time I even look at the typewriter, I get both happy and very angry, that it came to that point. I didn't think you meant anything other than what you had asked for, in the request for pictures.. and like the others said..when span shows up, it's usually left alone... read a few back and I commented on and replied... "ummmm, chew on a slipper?" well, that was from a video my kids watched, when they were little, about Toby the Terrier.. whenever he didn't have the right answer, he'd just say.. UH, chew on a slipper?. as if that could at least be some sort of answer. anyway, I'm looking forward to the article and link.. and as I sit here today at the computer, I'm uploading many, many pictures of my yard, to take a portfolio to the county office, where "county gestapo guy" works, to talk to his supervisor. I had yet another run in with the creature on Sunday..I ended up calling the sheriff's office, for her trespassing......actually video taping my yard, when she thought I was gone!!! don't be offended.... and if you are,,,,you're welcome to come here and take it out on the super tramp next door! now I need to count to 20...ten doesn't do it for me, these days....

Hi, Nicely done. Couple of questions/suggestions. The sink/stove wall: Are you right or left handed? Typically, if you are right handed, the DW would be right of the sink. That would free up the doorway and make it easier to (un)load. I'm not sure you will like having the shelf over the sink, at least not the lowest one. I'm guessing that the reason the sink is not under the window is to preserve the counter length left of the stove, which is smart but I wonder if you switch the narrow base cabinet to the R of stove (so now there are 2), it would move the stove over L, giving you room to mimic the shelving R of the hood for oils n such. MIght be more functional. Ref wall: Love that expanse of counter but what is it for? Too far away for prep, so is it for buffet service? If so, then I would furr the base cabinets out 2 or 3" and that would get you a deeper countertop which might be more useful for small appliance, etc. plus service (you have the footage). I'm torn with the Ref placement. Part of me gets why it's there - closer to the cooking action. But if you pushed it all the way over to the L, you'd get to use that counter for more food prep and guests in the adjacent room could help themselves to beverages w/out getting in the way. Either way, I think you will get more function from the layout if you remove the bookcase and keep that space free (it's a little tight). You have room to place two bookshelves either on the inside of the entry (flanking passage way) or the short wall R of windows and on the opposite as well. Look forward to seeing your next revision.

A vegan who doesn't like salads and doesn't eat grains? Small eater? There may be more going on there than veganism, but not your problem. You went out of your way to accomodate her, really totally impressive! I would have been in 7th heavan!! Just wanted to add that silken tofu makes a GREAT no cholesterol sub for some dairy products. Not necessarily low fat or low sugar, but can be part of that kind of scenario too, if you use low fat tofu. (Soybeans do have fat, it's just unsaturated.) I use lowfat silken tofu and a lemon pudding mix made my Mori Nu, to make lowfat jam tarts. I also use the phyllo cups for the tarts. Dab of lemon pudding, dab of jam--easy as pie, lol! I make chocolate cream pie using tofu and my veggie wary friends never know the difference, (although they do have their suspicions, lol!). Which goes to show you that put enough chocolate in something and everybody happy! (well, not people who are allergic to it, which one of my friends actually is. I'm lucky that I can find organic chocolate and silken tofu in my local Webman's grocery store.) I've seen the tofu in most larger groceries, even in non-urban areas. It's usually near or in the produce aisle. It comes in aseptic containers so can also be found out on the shelves in whatever "health" food section there may be. A lot of folks on low fat diets or lactose intolerant diets use tofu, so it is not totally "out there" anymore. On the other hand, there are some people who are allergic to soy products!! I did a standard crescent (I think) white (there are about 6 different whites). I just matched the paper and I left 1/2" all around the print showing, plus enough at the bottom for the signature and seal. The mats on all of them, no matter the size is 3", so about 2 1/2 or so shows. It's a single mat, no spacers. I don't know if you can tell, but the matting isn't a perfect match with all of the papers, but it's very close to all of them. DH has collected a few more, but we haven't had them all framed, because it's a bit dear, I'll tell you what. We'll get to them, eventually. He's been trying to find all the names for them (from other Ebay listers). Did you see the original oil that just went on Ebay for $2,000+? It was gorgeous. DH says he got some of ours from finestartprints, as well.

I like the look of all the eggs in the first photo, it is appealing, but maybe do something different with the "Happy Easter"- different color or ? Maybe what Jenn is suggesting? Cute idea.

I like the egg picture in the first one. Like others have said, change the bell colors if possible. As for the lettering use a pink, or light blue or yellow...carrying the theme colors from the color of the eggs in the first picture, that way you tie in a "color theme" for your book "cover". I wish I was as techie as you to be able to even do what you have done!

Jenn, I agree with your advice and I'd like to use the image with a great number of eggs but unfortunately, this picture is so small that I had to make it bigger and there are less eggs.

If I want to keep the number of eggs, I have to keep this image intact such as it is on the picture number one... and that is the problem: it looks so... handmade :-(

Tomorrow I'll be looking for a picture with lots of eggs but don't know if I'll find one...

About the bells, I put a pastel filter and their colors are less violent but Easter bells are normally represented by chocolate bells and I think that brown would not fit the colors of the cover ;-)))

Oh Mary, I tried with lots of colors but I have to download some new plugins for the editor: I'm never happy with the colors. Hope that I'll find a new plugin. Which color do you think about? I tried with pink (light, pastel, etc.) but it was ugly, I tried with black ; which was a good idea but not really fancy...

Judith, I don't like the green picture any more, lol. The site is green and that is why I made a green cover, but the site is beautiful not the cover ;-)

Will follow your advice about the color of the letters. Will do it tomorrow and post as soon as it's done!

Oh, by the way, I'm not a techie: I use Paint.dot.net... which is the best editor out there: you just have to click on a plugin and it does the work at your place (well, not all the work but as much as I need).

I've been trying Photoshop for one month and downloaded tons of how to videos but... never understood how it works and the only thing I've been able to do with it was to open the picture in the editor. After that... NOTHING else ;-)

So, I chosen PDN and I'm happy with it.

Ok, I've made a new cover for the report.

I bought a picture and tried to create something better.

Here is it.

Will re-work on it a little bit since I'm not entirely satisfied but I think that the picture was so lovely that I couldn't use it...

Oh, I am late to vote.
I like number 1 and the last one I like, but change the font. It looks Asian.. not Easter...JMHO, lol

Kahtleen, I've changed the font and selected a curly one... It looks better now ;-)))

Here are two new covers I created: one has a plain orange side and I added the design of the front cover and filtered it.

I like the new fonts and think that it's almost perfect ;-)

Perhaps the black fonts should be a smaller ?

What do you think about it ? Which one would I choose ?

They both look great, and the font made a big difference. I think the black is fine in size! Good job!

I finally have a cover for the report and it's thanks to the wonderful people who helped me!

I have to be honest, if I did not post here, I'd never received such good advices and never bought the new picture!
