What is your favorite website for ordering faucets, etc.
Comments (12)Thanks so much for the suggestions! I spent a LOT of time online making my decisions tonight...and wound up with the Danze Fairmont centerset bathroom faucet for $123.36 and the Danze Fairmont Shower/Tub combo fixture for $147.36. Both in brushed nickel and both from danzefaucetwarehouse.com. Prices around the Internet for Danze seemed to all have the same 15% off sale ending tomorrow...so I thought the prices were at least reasonable. And I've been VERY happy with my Danze Opulence faucet in brushed nickel in my kitchen for two years. Can't say enough great things about how solid it feels and the sheen to the finish. LOVE it!! I actually had it all ready to go on faucetdirect.com, but realized at the last minute they were out of stock. A very nice woman on the phone there said that if they are out of stock of Danze, it takes about three weeks for them to get a new shipment and then they ship it to you. Anyway, thanks again for the input! Sarah...See MoreLillangen sink and Grundtal faucet from Ikea - reviews?
Comments (10)I have an Ikea Lillangen sink, too! I love it! I bought it for its simple design, compact form factor, and specifically because it had those cool trays and stuff. Not to mention that it was only $49.99! Note that I mounted the sink asymmetrically (see below) on top of a 31" x 18" piece of Silestone to make the most use of the available counterspace. Though, I didn't install the cabinet legs--instead, I mounted an in-wall aluminum bracket and "floated" the whole vanity. I actually like your Grundtal faucet better than the one I have (we're going to replace this with an automatic faucet anyway). Ikea Lillangen sink + cabinet + Silestone quartz countertop + Rakks 12" aluminum bracket + Grundtal roll holder. This replaces the dated 29" x 19" vanity which had a large oval sink, on-center, leaving very little counterspace on either side of the bowl. Adding only two more inches to the overall vanity width, and pushing the more compact Lillangen sink to one side gave us loads of room on the right to comfortably rest multiple flat irons, driers, product, etc. The old vanity's sink wasted so much space--everything continually fell into the bowl, and I find large bowls a complete waste anyway, and just make for more surface area to keep clean. The Lillangen's size is just right! About plumbing this thing: we didn't care about ever stopping up the sink, so we left that assembly, unassembled, and used the simple, friction-operated, pop-up drain thing that came with either the sink or the faucet (don't remember which). Between the sink and the faucet, your plumber has everything he needs (except putty, stops, etc.) in the Ikea box that he'll need to install this. However, you may want to replace the white Ikea plastic trap parts with a prettier chrome trap or something later....See MoreBest websites for find deals while building your home?
Comments (24)Online sites we used- Overstock.com IraWoods.com eFaucets.com wayfair.com ebay.com For your toilets, tubs, sinks, faucets, etc. I definitely recommend going to your local kitchen/bath/plumbing showrooms and inquire about what they may have in the back or in a bargain bin. Sometimes you will have to listen to a spiel about the great deals they have out front and ask again about closeouts or things that were ordered wrong, overstocks, etc that they may have in the back before they get the message that you know those pieces exist and you are only interested in those items. We got a top of the line Kohler tub with all the bells and whistles that was a floor model for 10% of retail (yes, 10% so we got a 90% discount). Our kitchen sink was 50% off, our bathroom sinks were purchased for 5-10% of retail (some were 5% and the others were 10%--so a 90-95% discount) & our custom shower fixture setup was 55% off. These deals were all gotten in the showrooms with no haggling at all. The only item that was discounted because it was discontinued was the shower fixture setup, everything else is still current and available today at full retail. Don't forget to check your area Habitat for Humanity Restores too. CEFreeman on the kitchen forums has found some totally awesome deals on brand new current style items in her local store that she posts for everyone to see. Hope this helps!...See MoreAny opinions on online faucet fixture websites?
Comments (12)I just ordered a Kohler toilet, shower rod and rings from VintageTub.com I'm in Toronto. Best price for the Kohler Bancroft locally was $395 + 13% tax. VintageTub.com sells it for $329 with free shipping. Total cost delivered to my front door is $400. So $40+ cheaper than buying locally and free delivery to my door on top. Just tells me the locals are gouging on Kohler at least. I'm in a huge market (Toronto - millions of people) and the prices I got were from large operations that buy in bulk and get the best prices from the manufacturers. So no excuses when a US company can get me the same toilet, shipped from PA to Toronto with all taxes, duties, fees etc. for less....See Morejimnyo
