I've also looked at both the Aquatic and Vita Bath. If my memory serves me correctily, without digging back into my files, isn't the Vita Bath a bit smaller? The Serenity, big enough for 2, is bigger than what i think would look right in our bathroom. So hard to tell before the walls are up! We're also going vintage (farmhouse). I'm looking into the Champaign series from American Bath Factory as well. They have a pretty good variety of sizes and styles to choose from, lots of jets, and the price seems a little lower. Did you order on line or from a local retailer? Hope to hear how you like yours, although I'll probably have to make my decision before mid-August. Thanks for your info!

Initially, my designer recommended placing the free-standing tub filler off-center, in the corner, at the end of the tub (where my feet go) and it was plumbed that way. Then the designer changed her mind, and decided that the faucets should be centered at the end -- so I paid for plumber and tile setter to make the change. I considered having the faucets placed behind the tub, between the back wall and the tub, which would make it easier to add water when I'm in the tub, but then I would need to reach over the tub to fill it before entering. And designer said it's best to "show off" the exposed pipes on the filler. I just realized that there are black "spots" on my tub -- paw prints from the 10-year old cat I adopted this summer -- luckily, her prints wash off easily.

Anyone have recommendations for a modern looking freestanding air message tub? My impression is that the cost of these has increased dramatically over the past year which may be the disconnect here. We bought a tub for our master bathroom remodel (not jetted) which was $1,500 about 8 months ago. It is currently selling for $3,000. This is part of the supply chain disruptions you have been hearing about. So I'm thinking you will have to give up the jets to get back to the originally quoted price. Do you really need them? Some people love taking baths, some people don't. We removed a jetted tub when we did our remodel because we didn't care about it. For us it is a piece of sculpture. :-) If you want to hedge your bets, have the builder install an outlet appropriately placed so that if you replace it with a jetted tub later you will have the electric in place. We left the outlet for ours so that if the next person comes along and wants a jetted tub they will be able to install it easily.
