More Valentine Decorations

Over the sink I hung the candy heart signs that I found at the TS and then re-positioned my spaniels. I put candy hearts in my DT hurricanes and put them on the kitchen table. In the blue guest room I staged this little vignette of Valentines, Victorian bride's basket, beads, crocheted gloves, hankies, a antique book of poems from DH and a pair of earrings (bag) from Tiffany's from DS. I can't believe the heart signs you found, perfect for your decorating! I LOVE how you have the Spaniels kissing for Valentines. That is just adorable.
Everything looks pretty, but your blue vignette is really eye-catching.

Punk, I had to close the blinds so I could get a picture of that window ledge. Made me laugh when I read "hiding in the dark". LOL The cherub on the moon was a good find, sort of unique and it has a really nice finish on it. The one holding the bird is my favorite, just love the expression and pose of the little guy. I need to come up with an idea for using him with a birdhouse or something for a centerpiece sometime. Punk, the little hearts are not painted on the plates, just wooden ones I used textured snow on and then painted to resemble "cookies". Sunny Ca., maybe that explains the different colors on the cherubs. Maybe I'm just too picky but the variations bugged me. LOL DD, thanks for your sweet comment about my painted items. This is the only painted Valentine thing I have! Need to get busy and make some for outside--I usually like to have things to hang on my side gate and the lamp post, and might need a plant stake or two as well. Better get busy, huh? Oh, it's all beautiful, Jeanne! That new (old) outfit for your doll baby is adorable. And I just love your decorated vine tree in every single season. I was bad and never even got around to putting all the new decor on my vine trees for xmas! :( I'm so happy to get to February because it means there's a little less winter to face. :) We've been having a strange winter here... lots of snow and plenty of extreme cold, but we've also had two stretches of unusually warm weather in January that have melted almost all the accumulated snow each time. Luckily, yesterday was one of those days where it got to 55F and rained all day, so we'll be starting Feb. without much snow on the ground. I can't remember that ever happening before! and if that rain from yesterday had been in the form of snow I'd be griping miserably right now. LOL! Happy February to you too!!! Delph, its a good thing I have a small kitchen, it keeps my rooster collection under control. ;o) I like the ideas of a dish of the month club, LOL. And Lynne, having a new set of 4 each month sounds pretty cool too. This from someone who just found out a year ago that she was a dishaholic!!! The things this Forum does to one. Betty, I've not actually tried my hand at a pretty tablesetting. I love seeing all the ones on here but get so intimidated at doing one myself. I've bought stuff just to try it, and joke about setting a table for an invisible guest....tho since I'd be taking photos for the gang here, guess y'all are the invisibile guests. LOL My DH wouldn't even notice if he was eating off fine china or a paper plate! And he wouldn't care. Which is good, since he likes pretty simple food and I hate cooking! I do it, but only to feed him and my Dad. I'm so in awe of our Kathleen-the Kitchen Queen and her gorgeous settings with food that makes me gain weight just looking at it. I'm afraid the Betty Crocker gene went straight from my Mom to my daughter, sure missed me altogether. LOL hugs, Karen

Thanks for commenting, punk, sorie, kathleen, marlene & purplemoon ... punk..blizzards are over & "sunshine" just makes all the diff in the world! Very cold yet tho...but do-able! I'd love to visit your home...from what you share, it's just downright SWEET! sorie ... that print is by Robert Duncan called "April Storm" ... by his signature it says 1980 ...but I bought this print at an frame shop & had it framed 7 or 8 yrs ago...it is one of my favs! kathleen...no, the tree I bought on an after Christmas small town shopping trip...at a specialty store...they had used it in their display decor...& had it for sale...I was in heaven! I'd been wanting one for some yrs since I saw the grapevine handmade ones at a craftshow that sold for lots of $$$. It would be fun to try to make a "small" one. PM...hey, next mo (March 20th) is first day of Spring...so maybe you can decorate for that! You'll be bringing out all those beautiful bunnies!! You've got alot going on right now, woman! All really nice, Syble! My favorite thing is your idea for the candles nested in real candy hearts . . . how cute is that?!? I love that idea! You ladies here are doing it again, though ;^D I've just finished getting my house back to normal again after Christmas and was just starting to think about Winter decs. But, with all your pretty Valentines decs, all I can think about lately are hearts and red! Bad, bad, bad . . . (LOL!).

How cute to have the puppies kissing. And all your blue vignette looks so pretty. Very refreshing to see blue for Valentine's.

Lynn, I'm like you, need to pull my Valentine's decorations out and do a bit of decorating. It will be here before we know it--time goes by so darn fast!

I think my Painting forum would appreciate it if I got busy on some new painted items--we are really dragging over there right now! I'll have to see what I can paint for Valentine's.

froufrou...I love your pottery pc between your candles...cute idea to use the candy hearts there! The hearts you hung are perfect for your decor! I think you need the pink "children planter" on your sink sill also! LOL! Think there's some on e-bay!

Jeanne, I have a pink children planter and it is was made into a lamp. Someone took an antique glass flower lamp and inserted in the planter with plaster of paris. It is all pastels and the flowers are really old. It is very quirky, but I love quirky things. My camera is broken, so I will post a pic when I get a new camera.
