Kind of Grout Needed for Floor Tile

My porcelain (rectified) tile will have 1/16 grout lines, and I was told that sanded grout is not required for the floor due to the size of my grout lines. Could I trouble you to please confirm this before I order unsanded grout for my entire project? I thought someone told me that a latex additive was needed for the floor but don't recall where I got that information.

My tile is expensive (for me) so I really appreciate the information.

Thank you.

P.S. I also read that some installers use toothpicks to set the grout lines. I don't know if it works, but it may be something to consider! (I think I'll go with spacers - too chicken.)
