Toto vs. American Standard bathtub
Comments (1)Well, I just talked to our GC and he thinks a cast iron tub may simply be too heavy. Part of the problem is that the tub will be situated parallel to the joists rather than across them. So back to the drawing board--what are the other alternatives for a good-quality, heavy-duty bathtub that isn't cast iron? Our previous tub was a horrible gray 1980's jacuzzi bathtub made out of vinyl or some other plastic-like material and it really turned us off to anything other than cast iron!...See MoreAmerican Standard Cadet 3 vs Toto Drake
Comments (4)Dave, The American Standard Cadet 3 has a boatload of different models. I found the One piece, Right Height (17 inch tall?) Cadet 3 to be a very good unit. The 1.6 gallon flush is quite powerful and does a great job. I haven't accumulated a bucket of golf balls to try in it yet, I keep losing them!! :)...See MoreAmerican Standard vs. Toto toilets?
Comments (6)We have both Toto and AS toilets in 3 recent bathroom remodels. The Toto gets used the most as it's on the main level. It's not the model you show though it is one-piece, comfort height and elongated, but not skirted (regretful :-) ) It's been in place for about 5 years and we've never had a problem with it. We have the 2 AS Cadet 3 toilets mentioned above. We got 2-pc. toilets for upstairs just to be nice to the plumber (those 1-pc. suckers are heavy!). They've been in use in our upstairs hall bath and master bath for about a year. No issues with those either. The AS does have a shallower bowl than the Toto but that hasn't affected anything. We went with the AS mostly because of budget and have been happy with them....See MoreConnecting American Standard Bidet to Toto Wall Mounted Toilet
Comments (8)It's always fun finding aftermarket kits when you try to fit a chevy engine into a Jaguar. I was lucky ones in the early 80's when I installed Chevy big block engine into a Jaguar and I believe the conversion kit was only available and would work only on cars no later than 95 or 96-year Jaguar. :-) That being said I doubt anyone makes it Universal bidet mounting kits for a seat to fit any toilet... If that's the route you want to take, go on Alibaba website and find a bidet seat there for a few hundred dollars Something Like This. and contact the manufacturer and see which model toilet that will fit. Just make sure you not gonna get electrocuted or something will melt on your behind because who knows what they add to their plastic composites :-) As you know cheap always ends up being expensive. Good luck...See MoreRelated Professionals
