Frigidaire quality is horrible

Note to everyone, never EVER buy Frigidaire. I bought a stove/micro/dishwasher/fridge and they all have problems and Electrolux is the worst company on earth to deal with.
1. Frigidaire Gallery microwave: worst of the lot. Fit and finish isnt great, the thing rattles ALL THE TIME due to horrible design. The metal is about 1/64th of an inch thick and they use 'screws' which threads are about 1/8th apart, thus lots of room for movement. I've had 9 visits by 2 tech companies - they've put in larger screws, larger bolts, no success. 8 bolts to be exact.
2. Frigidaire Professional D/W: doesnt clean well, my 10yr old Kenmore that i got rid of cleaned better! And the motor is unbelievably loud when emptying water. The track on the door for the bottom rack is very shallow thus its constantly derailing.
3. Frigidaire Gallery Fridge: humming noise comes and goes, very loud. They cant figure it out and wont do anything. Doors are closed but they dont register as closed which results in the alarm constantly going off.
4: Stove: cheap parts - the tray on the bottom has plastic 'stops' which are hit by sharp metal from the drawer side - which cuts the plastic and the door goes in too much. CRAP design. Oven also takes VERY LONG to heat up.

Electrolux has been of zero help!! they say call the service co, service co. says to call Electrolux, Electrolux says to call service co. I used the self clean for the first time and the over door wouldnt open. Electrolux said "i'm customer service, i cant help you" and to call a service co, they'll help for free. Service co. said $105. NIGHTMARE!!!

Unfortunately, our Frigidaire refrigerator was of such bad quality, and our experience with the company was so poor, we felt obligagted to document what we've encountered in hopes of informing others to avoid the brand.

I had an expensive dual fuel slide-in range about 12 years ago. It was Kenmore, but made by Frigidaire. Long story short, within 2+ years we junked it. The knobs pretty much melted, the glass top IMPLODED (we thought the house was blowing up), and the main control board went (it was an F5 or something code that kept flashing). I had to fight with both Sears and Frigidaire to get anything done about the glass, since that was a safety issue. Frigidaire took no responsibility. I would never by ANYthing Frigidaire EVER again.

Its a gamble with any of them. My SIL bought a Kenmore stove several years ago now-made by GE. Nothing but trouble.Had to have board(s) changed every year and forget cleaning it. If you did the self clean it never opened again till the service tech did it manually. She kept the MA on it just so they would keep it going. Finally she got a tech she had never had before. They were talking about how much trouble she had over the years with it. He then checked something else about it and replaced that part. Hasnt torn up since and that has been a few years now.

My Sister had a new Wpool built in micro/oven and it was always trouble. The oven would just go into the self clean mode by itself and the only way to stop it was to throw the breaker. Wpool replaced the boards in it several times,finally after two years they replaced the oven. They moved shortly after that with job transfer so dont know if it stayed fixed or not.

Just cheap or weak parts I suppose.

Actually, bad air quality for humans is good air for plants...the burning of vegetable matter not only produces carbon monoxide (equal to car exhaust), but carbon dioxide (equal to what humans produce) the plants in return produce oxygen!!! Put them outside, they'll thank you for it...

Thank you so much for your input! I went to a showroom yesterday to see the Electrolux Icon set (the only one around Baltimore that had them on the floor!) I was really impressed with the quality and the layout. The Thermadors give up just two inches but that seems to make a difference in the layout (There are no shelves on the whole bottom half of the Therm too.) The *only* thing that somewhat bothers me is that I wish the ice machine was in the middle like the Therm or the GE Monograms because I have two daughters who can't reach or will pull the ice down on their head, but I could always put in a second container of ice down on a lower shelf given how much space is in the freezer! We are also getting an ice machine for a wet bar but I hate to think of 8- and 10-yr old hands going in it every time they want a drink! I've also heard good things about the Electrolux ovens and particularly like the roll-out racks which are included (and all extra for the Therm.) So, that pushes me towards the Electrolux as well. There's a nice rebate going on right now and I'm up to three items b/c the fridge and freezer are considered separate appliances. That's an $800 discount, need to investigate a couple other Electrolux appliances (have heard good things about the bev center, wine cooler and/or ice machine. Not sure about the dishwasher vs the others) because I could get it up to $1000. And, going with the Electrolux is certainly lower than the Therm even with the 1-2-Free deal, especially since it's not guaranteed to be the best products for my situation across the board. Anyway, that's where I stand right now. Would love to hear more - Thanks!

Very sorry this happened to you , braverichard. I read over J&P warranty, I did not see anything being required to buy in within their stated hardiness zone for the guarantee to remain in tact. If that's their policy, they should state it, and be prepared lose most of their tree rose sales to those not in zone 7-10. I also notice that good customer service companies have some form of escalation for valid reasons that fall outside of their warranty...I recently received refunds from both Amazon and Uber for situations that fell outside their warranty, because they made sense. Wayside, J&P and esp Park seed brought me much happiness when I was a kid. It's sad to see them in decline, their offerings are not that competitive in today's world, their reviews are bad, I would guess they're not exactly profitable, either.

I bought a new SxS Frigidaire ref. in 07. Now it is 9 years old and never a problem. I hope since I said that something doesn't happen to it...

I just moved into a senior community. All the appliances are Frigidaire. I've been here 6 weeks and the washer spin cycle won't work...brand new. The fridge and dishwasher make such loud noise when running that it is unbelievable. Why do landlords purchase this crap? The last senior facility had problems with their appliances as well. The other night I heard something hit the floor in the kitchen. It was the Frigidaire name stuck on with two sided tape!!! Unbelievable!!

january 29 2022 we bought a Frigidaire freezer from Home Depot in Salinas CA.

It was delivered on Wednesday February 16. 2022. Sunday, April 25, 2022 light not working & booklet stated call repair. Monday April 26,2022 unit was warming & called for service, told nothing before May 2. We called local electrolux repairman. By then our food was thawing out & had to be thrown away. ive never heard of a LEMON freezer but ill NEVER GET OR ENCOUAGE ANYONE TO GET FRIGIDAIRE FREEZERS.. 2 month old lemon in COMPOST

I bought a new home with all new Frigidaire appliances (fridge, dish washer, oven & microwave). The Fridge is so bad - the instructions for installing / replacing water filter are wrong and the filter , once installed, always leaks over time. The design is ridiculously poor. We had to turn off the water to the fridge for fear of it leaking when we are away and ruining the kitchen.

The dishwasher door latch broke in the first year and I had a repairman come and fix it. He says it ALWAYS happens with this dishwasher. Now, less than a year later, the same problem again. I am going to buy a brand new dishwasher (different brand) and junk this Frigidaire trash. I can't deal with this happening once a year - AND WE ARE NOT EVEN HERE AT THIS HOUSE FULL TIME.

Bottom line, NEVER BUY FRIGIDAIRE. The quality is very very very poor.
