I'm not an architect and I'm sure others will have more important comments than mine. I love the porches. I think it looks good. Only thing is it only has a closet for laundry. Are you sure you don't want a laundry room? More space for folding, etc.? I'm a big laundry nut and can't wait to have a laundry room with closets, counter space and a sink. I'll be in heaven. LOL

I really like it. I think it is a really nice plan. I like how the great room has lots of wall space for furniture placement. The only thing that really jumps out at me is that the laundry room is just a closet. There really isn't a place to store dirty laundry, or to sort laundry prior to washing. The entrance from the garage is where you'll probably enter most of the time and there is no closets or storage area for shoes there. I'd be tempted to just take out the extra 1/2 bath there and make it a closet. Guests could just use the full bath in the bedroom hallway.

Nice plan. I like the room sizes, flow, and separation. Wonder if there will be sufficient natural light though? The center of the house (great room) looks like it's going to be very dark. The only natural light comes from the foyer (which is far away and covered), and the single window + french door (which also access a covered area). Adding the fireplace is a great touch. Just remember that it kills those beautiful french doors that would otherwise be there. Furthermore, adding the wall between the great room and the kitchen adds cabinet space, but cuts down on the light that's able to enter the great room from the breakfast area. Finally, there's no natural light in the full bath on the left or in the laundry/powder room area. Admittedly, I don't have any brilliant suggestions, just thought I'd point out that it looks like the house will be quite dark.

Your plan is remarkably similar to ours on the first floor and I really like the way our house "flows". The one point I would be in agreement with the others on is that I think, if possible, you would really be happy if you added a coat closet, some cubbies and cabinetry in the laundry area. It doesn't have to be huge. Ours is rather small, but I don't know where all this stuff would land without it. Here are the cubbies in our laundry room with the coat closet to the left.

I'm not exactly sure how you would do it, other than possibly pushing the garage forward a bit to gain a few feet or stealing some space from the master closet. The other thing that we did was put a pass thru (just a small framed opening) between our master closet and laundry room. I LOVE it. The laundry drops into a cabinet in the laundry room and so it isn't cluttering up our closet or the laundry room.

I would also agree with mojua about the natural light. In our house, we don't have the wall between the kitchen and great room. Instead, we have a large island separating the area. You may really like the divided area, but this may also be something to consider. Here is our floorplan. Although it is rotated from your floorplan, the great room is in the same place, on the other side of the island (or wall) in your plan.

How big is your family? This may affect your house "needs" somewhat. Good luck with your project! I'd love to see an elevation of the house if you get a chance.

Your plan is very nice.
I have some comments/suggestions.

-For a house that is about 2100 s.f. (whithout the bonus room - I scaled it) it is nice to have a kitchen Pantry and a laundry room (not closet)

-The Breakfast area is too small, specially not deep enough. From the cabinets/refrigerator to the back window you have 7'-3" and that is including circulation space. Since this circulation space if to an important area as the Master bedroom/garage/laundry and the upstairs, I suggest to add a minimun of 3'. I think all you have to do is push the bay window wall into the porch. The porch is very big (which is nice) and it will not add too much to the cost since it already have the roof and the slab (?)

-If it were me, I'd re-arrange the 1/2 bath/laundry and stairs. I'd definitely add a mud area or at least a little closet there. You will not regret to have a mud area even if it is small.

One of the things that I like about your house is that most spaces are nicely proporcionated.

oh I almost forgot, You could make an opening between living and dining so the spaces are more "connected" but it is ok if you keep it as is.

Just a couple thoughts --
Looks like there is very little counter space in the shared bath. Don't know who (what kids, ages) will be living in the house, but if you have, say, daughter(s) that will someday be teens, you may want MORE counter space.

Also, I know that some folks who count on using a kids' bath as, esentially, a powder room, find that it's a real pain to make that kids' bath look OK for guests. If you lose that half bath, as someone mentioned, then you may want to consider this.

Definitely echo what others say about having something like a mudroom. You can never have enough space to park clutter, coats, etc.
