Do you have a soaking tub for two? Share pics please?

Our Master Bath in our new build will be approx 10x15, though the actual usable space is less because of the roof line. I think with the deck, we have about 8 ft (maybe slightly less) for the tub. A corner tub will not work with our layout. I don't care if it has jets or not, in fact I would probably prefer not. We will eventually be putting a hot tub on the back deck. but I do want it deep enough that I can fully submerge my 5ft7in body. Hubby is 6ft2 and would like to be able to soak too, though he doesn't feel the need to get all the way down like I do. We will be going to a bathroom showroom and testing some tubs out for comfort. But in the meantime I am gathering ideas. Room for two would be great, but I don't want it to be so big that it wastes a ton of water and is too extravagant for just one, since I will be the primary user. Oh, and there will be a shower on the opposite wall, so no doors necessary on the tub.

Here's ours. Works well for one submerged or 2 reclining on opposite sides. I believe it's 42" x 72".

I love the look of the pewter soaker. But is it too radical for a spec home?

No, you were right first time on the Mariposa with 66". We were talking about changing the walls by flipping the relevant studs so give a little more room, or moving the whole wall out a couple of inches which we could do.... for a price. I think the problem is we are doing too much at once - kitchen, bathroom, a ton of painting and stuff in other rooms, painting the whole outside of the house, about to have a baby, deal with a pool for the first time and just moved in. I am probably not on top of the details in the way I should be. There are just 10 million decisions that have to be made all at once. Really struggling with tile decisions too. I am trying to stay as on top of it as I can but it's hard to catch all these details. Do you have any comments on the size of the vanity? We need to decide between a 60" or 72" vanity. For reference this is a big house - the master bath is surprisingly small for the sie of the home. The other two bathrooms both have double sinks.... and both will be bigger than the master bath sinks, no matter what we do. The guest bathroom has a 92" vanity (which is a bit big TBH, we need 2 of everything we share because we can't reach the other side), and the small bathroom has a 77" vanity. sorry spanky, I hate to assume that others have my same low level of computer savvy. I will try to walk you through it, but this may be a case of the blind leading the blind. I will try to put the pb link below. Register for your account. It will lead you through this step by step. Once you are registered you will see some buttons that say choose file. Click on the 1st one and it should take you to your computers picture files. If you have an imac (like we do) it will take some detective work to find the picutres you want. Choose the picture you want and then do the same thing all over again to choose another pic. There is another button to click if you want to add even more pics. once they are loaded in your album you can look at them and under each pic there should be 2 or 3 boxes. One will say tag line - copy the info in the tag box. Go to your message and paste the line wherever you want in the message. Go to preview and you should see your picture. Have you considered a wooden japanese tub? A solution for an extra deep tub may be as simple as a bench to keep in front of the tub! Since every tub is custom made, it is possible to add a step to ease ingress/egress. This can also be used as a bench for relaxing before/after the bath. Most of people tend to think that a wood tub is expensive and difficult to maintain, so resorting to synthetic materials is inevitable. Actually, if preserved from excessive dryness and maintained with hiba-oil a wood tub can last 30+ years. I have 2 windows (with faux wood blinds covering them thank you) at right angles above the tub in the master bath, so no wall art there. However, I do have a prominent piece of wall separating 2 mirrors over our vanities.........This wall is crying for something but I haven't found it. The other day, I saw some really pretty decorative wall clocks and have been thinking about that. For some reason I wasn't sure if it would be odd to have a pretty wall clock hanging there, although honestly it kind of makes sense. What do you think? The ones I saw (at Ross or TJMaxx) were round and had nice detailed frames. I am linking a nice substantial one I just saw on the o site, just wondering what the decorating experts here think of a decorative clock as a piece of décor in a bathroom.square not round but a pretty clock

Ours isn't installed yet, but we chose this one: http://mtiwhirlpools.com/products/tubs/designer/MTDS-112

At 72"x36" it's big enough for two reclining at opposite ends. I liked that it's a full 18" usable depth (bottom to overflow) and the freestanding design makes the room feel less crowded.

Two large people can fit in a 49Ã¢ÂÂ³ corner tub
(e.g. Neptune Diva or Oceania Coteau).
A corner tub has a footprint like a neo-angle shower.

To get a small straight tub, try the Kohler Greek tub.

Anything larger than that will give you both a bit more room, need more time to fill, and require more hot water.

So I finally got my Kohler Greek tub installed. Sat in it today for the first time. Totally awesome! Davidro1--you may remember that I posted about this a while back. I ended up doing a step to cut the visual imposition of such a deep tub. It looks fabulous and the step does help since I have a grab bar. Anyone who doesn't have a ton of room but wants a great soak--I recommend this tub heartily!
