Window over Master Bath Tub
Comments (8)We only have space for a very small window, but it beats no natural light at all. Ours will be very small and clear glass because there's no way anyone is seeing into it, but for the other bathrooms that don't have so much privacy I'm going to use an obscure glass similar to the "Minster" pattern in the link. I wish I could fit a full-sized window, I would go with clear glass and sheers. To be honest, I could find happiness in just about anything that wasn't glass block. Sometimes I feel like the only person alive who can't stand that stuff. Makes me feel all Miami Vice-ish, like I need to don a white silk pant suit and peach cami. I tend to think it doesn't get more timeless than "plain old glass". You can always apply a treatment or film if you want something different without the commitment. Comments (27)It doesn't matter how old the thread is when it is the first thing that pops up on a Google search when looking for the answer to this question.....And then, someone repeats this kind of nonsense on a new thread "A bathroom has a bath tub. It's legalese. It's not a "full bath" without a bath tub." I found this gem first thing, while looking up the reference to this exception where New York doesn't require a bathroom AT ALL. §RR306.1 Toilet facilities. Every dwelling unit shall be provided with a water closet, lavatory, and a bathtub or shower. Exception: Owner-occupied one-family dwellings subject to the approval of the code enforcement official. "NYS has several modification to allow construction of owner-occupied single family homes that have minimal technology, and may heat with wood or other renewable source of energy. This language allows, for instance, construction of Amish residences with little electricity (other than battery operated smoke & CO alarms) and with outhouses rather than bathrooms. Hunter camps may have a similar minimalist construction. NYS has a special condition with respect to the Amish population and to the prevalence of minimalist hunter cabins in the Adirondack Park." http://www.dos.ny.gov/dcea/pdf/AmendmentsDisposition2015.pdf...See MoreWhat do you have on the wall above your tub?

Comments (8)Some people that have codes preventing them from putting a chandy over the bathtub, have all the necessary wires in the ceiling and then install the light fixture after the inspection. Just sayin' :) We don't have building codes in the country here so there IS a chandy over my bathtub and I've seen 100s of pictures on Houzz (on on hgtv) with the same. I'm not sure how it's a problem. If the thing came loose somehow and dropped, the wires aren't long enough to come anywhere close to the water in the tub. If someone was in your attic and cut the wires and unbolted the mounting, it might fall on your head but it won't electrocute you <g> I'm sure I'm missing something. But then again, in this crazy world, maybe not....See MoreOlychick
