Need help for appliances - Jenn Air or GE Profile

I thought I had my appliances figured out,until I went and saw them in person.

I was originally going to get the GE Profile stainless top double oven range ( pgb975em), otr microwave (pvm1870s) and FD refrigerator (pfcs1nfxss). I saw them in white and thought I like them, when I saw the appliances in person I was very disappointed.

The grates on the range were a mess (looked like the finish was coming off and even had some spots that looked like rust),cooktop had scratches, plastic knobs.

The refrigerator handles seemed too bulky for my small kitchen.

When I was walking around the store I saw the Jenn Air slide in gas range JGS8850bds, and Jenn Air refrigerator JFC2089HES, I really liked the streamline look of them, and thought they would look a lot better in my kitchen and had a richer look to them.

The Jenn Air didn't have the second oven, but I thought I could get the OTC microwave with speed cook convection JMV8166BAS)

Does anyone have any of these appliances? Any opinions of what is a better product?

The members of this forum usually don't recommend the same manufacturer for all appliances. No one is good at everything. If you take that sage advice, I would ask that you set a budget for the appliances and list a number of features that you must have and then ask for recommendations about which appliances will fit your price point and needs. I have an older Jennair range and could not in good faith recommend it. Also have a GE fridge that I cannot recommend either. It has stopped working on several occasions and in less than 5-years of ownership has been fixed for one issue or another at least 6 times. Did I mention that the stainless was rusting also? It came with the house I can't really complain and I have replaced it with a Liebherr. Best of luck! Homepro01

I am not sure why you are getting zero response to your question. I too am having a difficult time deciding between two brands. My request for advice wasn't answered either. So without the benefit of others sharing their experience the best way to decide is probably side by side comparison. List the pros and cons of each as you see them and perhaps one will stand out more than the other. I don't have gas but I do have a GE convection wall oven and a GE cooktop. The cooktop has had to have the elements replaced three times in the 8 years I have owned it. The convection oven has had fan issues from the get go. First the fan in the oven started sounding loud and was fixed. Now it has noise coming from an internal fan and you'd think a plane was landing in the kitchen. So, Jenn Air, with it's extra features may be worth the extra expense if it holds up better than the GE. I'd check their repair history. Good luck with your remodel and enjoy your new kitchen!

@Susan: We just ordered glass shelves for the 14 1/2‘ long bar which will be installed in the next couple of weeks; notice we did not create space for bar stools since it’s in the family room section and also since we have a traditional bar in the media room (aka man cave to be completed) on the second floor, the other end of the home. The pantry is on the other side of bar wall. The first two pics are day and night pics and last one is a rendering when complete.

There are hundreds of consumer reviews of LG appliances on such sites as Home Depot, Best Buy, and Lowes. You might find a few consumer reviews of Jenn-Air appliances on appliancesconnection.com and ajmadison.com. It's better to buy each appliance individually as different manufacturers excel and producing different types of appliances. Even within a brand, there can be small difference in performance among products that differ wildly in price. However, LG appliances often do well in Consumer Reports ratings.
