Help save this bathroom

Hi everyone, when we recently did our home bathroom, you guys saved us from many mistakes and I'm looking for help again.

I am trying to help out my mom with the bathroom at her cottage.

To begin with, she has almost no money. The reason for the reno is to make the cottage rentable so she can pay the taxes and not lose it - the land was homesteaded by her parents and my grandmother built the cottage in the 60's after their log house was destroyed by fire.

What it needs is a shower of some sort. It has the little tub, but the faucet is on that little half wall so I'm not sure how to turn it into a shower. There is a shower outside mounted on the wall directly behind the tub. We'd like to keep the tub as it's handy for kids and dogs. Can anyone come up with a cheap and easy solution? Even a hard and not too expensive solution would be considered, but I'm doing the work (and probably paying for it) myself.
