Brake problems

I had this problem with this project car. The brakes are not releasing on the right side. This is a subaru loyal 92. What is happening is i can pump the brakes up and bleed the right side. But when I go to the drivers side the brake peddle has pressure and won't go to the floor when I open the bleeder or remove the bleeder or remove the rubber brake line from the caliper.No fluid comes out at all. I removed the rubber line and it is not clogged. Could this be a bad master cylinder? I have encounter this problem before but it was usually the rubber lines clogged. This master cylinder has 4 lines running to it. One for each wheel.No porportion valves at all.Straight lines to each wheel.Any info on this would be appreciated before I went and bought the new master.

I'm just a shade tree mechanic. And this is just a guess.

You say you have 4 lines running to the MC, one for each wheel.
I'm assuming that means this MC has 4 independent ports.
In that case, after you bleed one (or more) of the wheels,
that last one can't be bled properly. The back pressure
of the other independent ports are keeping the brake pedal
from pumping pressure into that last line.
In a case like that I would recommend one of those
vacuum bleeding tools to remove all the air from the last line.

I have never seen a MC with 4 independent ports.

Likely the cable is what is binding. You should try to unhook the cable, maybe try to work some lube into it. Once the cable is unhooked, you should be able to verify if the brake assy itself seems free to disengage and return freely. If the cable is adjustable, you would see it under the handle panel.

Ensure that the automatic adjuster is right. It is incredible that the shoes are expanding that much, but this is something that affects all drum brake cars, but they usually do not overreact to the water/moisture.. Toyota should replace the entire assembly, both sides, of course - they are rich enough --.. They should have, by now, at least have replaced the rear shoes and maybe both drums - nothing hard about that.. Another factor, with front drive, the rear is lightly loaded......This could happen to the big rigs all the time, but they are so heavy that this would never be noticed and the moisture would be quickly dissipated..
