How to Install Crown Moulding in Shower?
Comments (4)Maybe I should re-think the molding in the shower. I have seen it done before, someone here posted photos of a beautiful Mrs. Limestone inspired bathroom. I'll attach the link to that thread below. lnmc - Thank you for posting the photo. That's a teaser photo to what looks like a gorgeous bathroom! I like the transition from your molding to tile. I wonder how it would look with crown molding. Does anyone have photos of a crown molding "return" next to a tiled shower wall? Also, I'm having a tile molding installed at the top of the tile that will be halfway around the room. The tile installer suggested he install it up the side of the shower wall (just like in the link below). If we do a ceiling crown molding return, how should that abut the tile molding that runs up the wall? Comments (3)I struggled with how to run the crown on the wall with my rangehood between two windows. On this thread where I was asking for help, you can see a few different pics of crown and hood treatment. Maybe one of these pics will help. Here's what I ended up doing. No crown. I will, when I pick tile, run it eurosplash style on the whole hood wall. Here is a link that might be useful: Pics of hood-crown treatment...See MoreCrown Molding in Master Bath?
Comments (2)I don't have an opinion about whether you should add crown, but I can tell you that I have crown molding in my bath with no problems. However, my shower is designed a bit differently than yours with the tile going all the way up to a shallow light soffit. My crown is on the outside of the soffit which means it is on the exterior of the shower....See MoreHelp with crown molding and window spacing
Comments (3)The room might not be style-appropriate for traditional colonial crown molding. But I have seen rooms with a thin band of material placed where the wall meets the ceiling. If you did the thin band, maybe an inch high, then you could stop it at the windows and paint the thin sections of wall above the windows to match the molding. If it were my house, I would skip the crown molding, skip the ceiling tile, and spend my time and money getting the popcorn off the ceiling....See Morekgwlisa
