White subway tile and beadboard, now what do I use on the floor?
Comments (6)I have similar concerns about too much white in my bathroom re-do. Currently, the bathroom is 50s pink n gray tile, so a lack of color will be a relief! I found a ceramic tile at Lowe's that looks like wood parquet. It matches the color of the hardwood in the hall by the bathroom. I am trying to copy an inspiration room on the Restoration Hardware website: white walls, dark stained vanity/mirror/wood floor. If you want to find the picture on the rh website, you have to look under the white bathroom rugs on the website. The tiles we purchased were a special order from Lowes and are about $4/sq. ft. Will keep up and see how your project turns out!...See MoreGlossy subway tile on wall with matte hex tile floors?
Comments (3)Yes, that is historically correct. You will find matte floor tiles paired with gloss wall tiles. Now the level of gloss might be higher today, unless you go with reprod.tile, but overall the scheme is correct....See MoreNeed help with floor tile that would go with Travertine shower!
Comments (9)Crema Marfil in herringbone, hexagon, basket weave, or even arabesque?https://www.thebuilderdepot.com/traditions-crema-marfil.html I don't know if it will be too close and look "off" or if it will be a creamy nice contrast. This 1x3 herringbone and the 1" hex have the most variation in color, which work best for trying to not "quite" match. The company is very responsive with sample orders. I have not yet ordered from them for a tile order....See More1990's bath redo! All this ugly tile will go? Marble? Subway tile..?
Comments (3)This post is a little late to the game, have you already made a decision? While I love subway tile, that would be a lot in that space. If you love that look I would break it up a bit with different color/texture trim, and a different shower floor tile. Or just use subway on the shower walls. I personally would go with larger tile, for a sleeker look, but that’s my own style. I find it visually more calming. The floor tile is a definite replace. It looks just like the tile in the kitchen of the house we just bought, LOL. Yes, in a perfect world that tub could be raised, but if you don’t have that on your priority list make the changes you want to make. Depending upon your budget, you could just start with new paint on the walls and a new floor tile. That could make a big difference. I’d like to see your updates!...See Moreweedyacres
